The Scene
What started as a small collection of simply shaped handbags by a former accessories editor has grown into an empire that now includes everything from pajamas to dog carriers. Sometimes it feels like those oh-so-discreet labels are sewn onto just about every girl's bag in town, but you gotta give Kate Spade credit: Some of those totes sure are cute.
The Goods
There's always the signature sack in classic nylon, seen on the shoulders of working gals, moms and teen queens, but get creative and go for something a little more seasonal. Summer collections usually include floral prints, while winter brings warm fabrics like wool and corduroy. If you've got the dough, blow it on a pair of shoes to match.
