“The decor is kind of nice, but the space is probably in need of some refurbishment, as it's starting to look a bit weathered.”
“Must try place in Downtown if you are looking for good Indian food.”
“There is a good variety of meat and vegetarian items and they usually try to have a lamb dish, which is nice.”
“It's a nice romantic place and the ambience is certainly good too.”
“Can't believe anyone would go back to this depressing hole, especially when the staff adds 20% for gratuity even for a party of 2!”
“However, watch out for the very pushy head-waiter.”
“The portions were huge.”
I'm not usually a big fan of buffets (at least not outside of Las Vegas) but the $15 all-you-can-eat number at this Tribeca Indian is a major value, and because it is usually slammed, the food is very fresh and very flavorful, even by the standards of Indian food. The a la carte menu is even better, but there's just something about a buffet that puts a hop in my step.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Food and service mediocre, but the most unpleasant surpise awaits you when you receive your credie card bill: besides automatically charging 15% for ServiceCharge Sallam Bombay manages to get an additional UNATHORIZED 20% from credit card which of course is being charged back to you.
Best Indian in the City!. Fantastic restaurant, went with a friend recently and had an amazing meal. The service was great and the food too. I'll definitely be going back especially since I found a great deal with buywithme when I was looking around. $30 worth of food for only $15. Great Regional Indian. Awesome lunch buffet...I believed it was ranked the "Number 1 Indian Buffet in NYC" so much variety, go on weekends to avoid rush.
This is High Quality food. The food here is exceptionally good. We loved the food and the flavors. The service was decent, but the food was above all. I give it five stars.
Best Indian Buffet in the City. we come all the way from midtown for Salaam Bombay's lunch buffet. it's a steal for $13.95. the beauty of their buffet is the variety, taste and quality of their food
love this place. reviewing food is very subjective, however quality, taste and consistency of the food should mean something. we've been going to salaam bombay for years...i believe their are one of the oldest indian restaurants in the city...needless we love this place
Great Place. Ate there last night and thought the food was excellent. The portions were huge. The chicken xacutti, shrimp balchao and mix grill were all excellent. The service was great as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will be raving about this place.
