My first experience with Peking duck house was wonderful so I returned for New year 2013 to have the most unpleasant experience. The atmosphere had changed a lot and had become very touristy and factory like. The waiters were unhelpful and unwelcoming.

The prices were very high. We paid 70 dollars for a dinner of a full duck (no option for a half duck) and the duck was served to us cut in very few greasy slices. sometimes we were served only the skin, the meat still on the carcass was swept away back in the kitchen.

The food was scarce. A whole duck and we had barely enough to eat for two! It seems that they use the left over meat for dishes they cook.

We complained and they told us that they could not cut the dark meat for the Peking duck dish. This is obviously false and does not exclaim skimming off the white flesh. They gave us a carcass that we took home but which was not even from the one duck we had ordered.

A real disaster dinner. Needless to say, we will never return.

Not bad, but they are not really good at handling a full house. You may find yourself waiting 20-30 minutes just to place an order on busy nights. Even so, their food is only average - which doesn't justify the costs. Sorry!

We had reservations for 5 for last Friday night. When we got to the restaurant they couldn't find our reservation and was very rude about the whole thing, We will not go back there.

Not a good choice due to it's high rates. This restaurant has one of the largest selections of premium tequilas, but the rate is so high that makes it unaffordable. The food quality is not the best and they also do not have a great selection of Chinese food. The staff is not all that supportive. So, not a good overall choice.

Very Disappointed. My family of 7 had a small birthday dinner party in Chinatown at Peking Duck House on September 9, 2010. We had reservations for 6:30pm. When we arrived at 6:25pm the restaurant was not even aware that there is a reservation and did not even prepare for it.

So far as the foods, the Scallion Pancakes tasted terrible, it did not even look like Pancakes, it looked kind of like Danish.

They did not carve the duck in front of us as it claimed on the menu. The other dish is a steamed Flounder, it is a large fish, and the waiter did not even offer to remove the bone for us as all the Chinese restaurants do. Not once did the waiters ever show up to ask how the foods were. They all gathered in the middle of the casher desk area doing nothing. We also felt rushed to leave the restaurant as the waiter wanted to quickly remove our dishes

This restaurants service was the worst that I have ever been to. If you like Chinese food there are lots of good Chinese restaurants with better services in Chinatown. It is not worth it to spend this kind of money and get all the aggravation. For me myself I will never go there again.

ASIAN BIAS,2009. Asians be prepared to be treated like a vagrant off the street. If you do eat there make sure you ask for the oranges before you get the bill or whatever they lavish non Asians and see how the managers & staff gets all twisted & creepy with excuses that you don't deserve the same treatment. Skip the tip!!!

Bad food! Bad Service with Ridiculous EXCUSES!. Ducks are too dry to match their so expensive price! Also, their service is very inequality .

They refuse to serve after dinner to us oranges after a so expensive meal. We asked why they only not gave us.　

At first, they said there is no orange left, then they said we have to pay for it, so we asked them to show us the menu. They finally said we were being bad customers, but others are their friends, and those customers spend a lot of money there, so they would like and have to pay for the orange for all of their friends!?! How Ridiculous!

We will not go back there again. AND EVERYBODY, DO NOT GO THERE!

Do Not Eat Here!!. After reading all the recommendation in numerous sites, plus some in the guide books, I decided to go there with a group of friends to give it a try.

Big disappointment! The duck was cold and bland; the vegetable dish we ordered was soggy; the lamb dish was just salty! Overall, the food here was terrible!

This is a big tourist trap: overprice + second class food.

It's a waste of money. Don't even think of eating here.

Ripped Off. There aren’t many restaurants that I can think of where I left feeling like I had been totally cheated out of my money. Unfortunately for me, Peking Duck House definitely fell under that category. I had read all the previous reviews about it being a tourist trap and having terrible service before going, but most people said the duck was good, so I let the other stuff slide.

Upon arrival, I saw that the décor and ambiance was almost at a standard American level for nice. No cheesy Chinese paintings, no random aquarium, no stains on the wall, and it was populated by roughly 80% Caucasian patrons. All those things combined should have sent blaring warning signals all throughout my brain. But alas, I ignored them.

The duck was $40 dollars which is pretty expensive but after confirming with the waiter that it was a whole duck, I felt like it wasn’t a bad deal, especially since restaurant itself was decently nice. When the duck came out, they showed it to us, and began to make a spectacle of cutting it up. After slicing off the skin and a little bit of the meat, they plated it, put it on our table and took the rest of the duck into the kitchen. I assumed that they were taking the duck back to the kitchen to do a more thorough dissection before bringing the meat back out. I was mistaken. I had paid $43.35 including tax for duck skin and trimmings, gone were the remaining couple pounds of meat still hanging on the duck I thought I had bought.

Those people who actually gave this place a good review have most definitely never had real Peking Duck because Peking Duck includes duck meat and does not include tortillas. So I ate my paltry, albeit expensive meal, gave no tip, and silently stewed all the way home.

All I can say is to not eat here, ever.

I liked it. I have never had peking duck before so I guess I have no comparison, but I had a good experience there. I really liked the duck and the sauce, i did not experience any discrimination, but I am not asian. However, the server was not the friendliest. I'll probably try another place before I return because now I know I like peking duck and to try another place.
