on the decline?. Dinner here was not so special. Staff did an okay job, but they weren't so friendly. I wasn't blown away by the wine selection. The tartare wasn't great either. Atmosphere is okay, but all in all, this place is probably not worth the fancy prices. I would go back for a drink at the bar, but not for another meal.

Relaxed! GREAT bistro food!. Went for my birthday-My wife, 2 and a half year old and I. We were seated promptly and brought a high chair.

Started with frisse salad with egg. Possibly one of the best salads I've eaten-ever. Crisp Frisee, bacon and some truffle oil dressing. Steak frite au poivre was tastly and cooked to perfection. The chef does the au poivre sauce sans cream, but thats ok. Washed it down with a nice chimay.

It was a Friday nice and the crowd was one of the most ecclectic mix of people I've ever seen in a NYC restaurant. And lots of babies and young kids.

The bill came out to $250 with tip which was my mini beef with the check.

Great Place for a first date. The Moroccan Martini is quite possibly one of the best drinks in the entire city. The food is tantalizing and the lights are just dim enough to create the perfect date ambiance.

Best hazelnut ice cream... loved the dessert!. I went to The Odeon on Dec 31 for lunch. We were 6 and were seated promptly. Service was good. The manager Aaron was very nice. I had the special soup for the day which had a lot of flavor, chicken breast paillard and the molten chocolate cake with hazelnut ice cream. I will definitely go back there! we spent around 300 and something which i found fine including a bottle of champagne and cocktails.

Overpriced and Absent Service. I just moved to Tribeca and have tried to understand what is up with this joint for a few times now. It never delivered to my expectations - food portions are miniscule, prices ridiculously high and a service that is absent in every possible way. After my third visit I actually felt hungry after having dinner there (???)

Tired looking decor, tired looking food and a very high tab await you here!

Omit the Odeon--no love for food or flavor. The Odeon was a huge disappointment. My wife and I could not understand why people seem to like the place so much. The service was decent, but the most important component, the food, was lacking in every way. There was no color to our plates--everything was a pale yellow or greenish-gray My wife paid $14 for a soggy salad that would barely suffice as a first course. My eggs benedict were subpar in every way--the English muffin was burnt, the bearnaise sauce without any flavor and the potatoes which accompanied my dish were gooey, charred and again, flavorless. None of the ingredients seemd fresh and none of the dishes had any "love". To make matters even worse the coffee was stale, the juice was sour. We realized that the waitstaff probably knew we didn't enjoy our dishes as they didn't ask a single question such as "everything okay here?" , "can we get you anything else?" "are your dishes to your liking?". It just seems that none of the employees there care about the food or if it makes their customers happy. If you are in Tribeca, avoid the Odeon and instead check out one of the other, better staples of the neighborhood.

Bad service plain food. The problem with this restaurant is that the staff has their jobs split up so much that if one thing goes wrong it will only get worse. The managers are full of apologizes but are unable to correct the situation. We arrived and sat at our table, 18 minutes later a waiter tells us he will be right with us. 10 minutes after that another waitress comes over to take our order, both drinks and food at the same time. ( its crowded and she is starting the feeling we should move along). She returns 5 minutes later to tell my guest that they have run out of the special she had ordered and would she pick something else. Our apetizers never comes, and 20 minutes after the waitresses last visit a new person comes to the table with my guest's order and asked if I wanted anything. This new waiter didn't know what to do so I flagged down the second waitress who told me she was sure it would be out soon. I asked her to check in the kitchen and she did to tell me that the order was forgotten but did I want and apetizer while I wait. When the meal came 12 minutes later it was completely cold. They did not forget to make the order, they just put it aside. Knowing that I was going to complain, they sent over the manager to apologize which he is so talented at doing he didn't even stop and kept moving. At the end the bill came, with the apetizer on it and the waitress told me I should have said something. It became very amusing at this point. The table next to ours turned and told me they had sent their order back twice because they kept placing entrees on the table that they did not order. Finally we go to the front for the coat check. This did not look promising because the table across from us that left 20 minutes earlier were still waiting for their coats. 17 minutes later our sentence at this restaurant had be served and we were paroled. Its been open since the late 80s and it needs to be put out of its misery and ours too.
