“We recently went to Ivy's bistro with a group of 10 people and were delighted to see that new owners had purchased the place giving it a fairly impressive makeover in decor and food.”
“The smart decor is inviting, with white walls, walnut-stained floors, small tables topped with white tablecloths, and chocolate-brown crushed-velvet banquettes.”
“Imagine my surprise when the French waitress behind the bar remembered my name, favorite drink and last dinner order, even though the last time I visited was a few weeks ago!”
“recomend Ivy's Bistro to anyone who likes great tasting food!”
“The menu was also very vegetarian friendly with an sinful macaroni and cheese dish on the menu.”
“Ivy's is a great place for any special occassion or just a casual dinner out.”
“The waitress are really friendly and nice.”
“The food is very good and on par with the more pricey spots nearby.”
“This place is cozy/cool with GREAT Jazz playing all night long.”
A Hidden Gem. I have recently started having brunch at Ivy's and have to say it is truly a hidden gem in Tribeca. Not only do they start your meal with warm fresh muffins (the corns ones are amazing!) but they are prompt with service and the food is outstanding. Last weekend I had a great bloody mary and a nice cool iced coffee, both were prepared perfectly. I especially recommend the omelettes, pastas, and turkey burger. I'll be going back again and again, mmmm!
Good deal!.
Was here on a crazed Sunday Brunch, food was very good. But, It did take awhile. The staff was friendly & helpful (which is a rare-ity on a Sunday). I had the Cinnamon Raison French Toast, my wife had the Spinach Omelet. We'd enjoyed our Brunch, although i might suggest coming in on a off peak time...Like I said it was crazy!
Best part was the Mimosa's, it's included in the Brunch Pre-fix.
Worst Brunch Ever.
Recently went to Ivy's for Brunch with my girlfriend. Got there around 12:20 PM and ordered food by about 12:30, after about 45 minutes and no food we asked the Hostess where our food was, and she told us it was on its way. This seemed understandable as the Restaurant seemed very busy at this point. However, when she came back about 30 minutes later with food it was the wrong order. At this point we told our waitress to cancel our food order and left the Restaurant.
In addition to waiting an hour and a half and not receiving food, a bigger problem with the brunch was the quality of the bloody marys. One of the reasons that we go to Ivy's is that they usually make very good bloody marys. However, that was simply not the case -- the bloodies were atrocious. The first round was like drinking water, while the second was like drinking horseradish sauce, it was simply impossible for them to make proper bloodies which took away from the quality.
Pros: Our drinks were free.
Cons: The food never came, the bloodies were horrible.
Excellent Food!!!. I went to Ivy's for my birthday and the food was delicious. The restaurant was very warm and relaxing and the music was soothing. The food and service were great and the vanilla creme brulee and garlic bread with pesto sauce were to die for. I recomend Ivy's Bistro to anyone who likes great tasting food!
New Owners are wonderful..
New ownership has breathed life into this tribeca mainstay in both ambiance and passion for
food. Enjoy a nice Bottle of Barolo, food takes awhile but is worth the wait.
Cool Vibe. I just had dinner here the other night with a group of friends. This place is cozy/cool with GREAT Jazz playing all night long. We stopped in for a drink a decided to stay for dinner-so happy we did! The waitress was wonderful, happy hour drinks hiit the spot and the Goat Cheese Salad was Yuummmmy!
Nice palce to bring kids. We stopped in for dinner recently and had a wonderful time. Nice at home feel, good wines, nice music & the staff is very welcoming...But the Brunch- our daughter loved the baby mac n cheese, the chocolate pancakes are like eating dessert & what is the secret about the bacon?? How is it so crispy?
Great neighborhood spot...excellent service. Use to go to Ivy's when they first opened but stopped going after I moved away from the city for a few years. After moving back to the neighborhood was glad to see that they are still around. My wife and I enjoy the new menu (few additions). Ask for the french waitress (can't recall her name), good server, very attentive and knows her wines!
Editorial Review. Neighborhood restaurant and bar delivers a large Italian menu offering homemade pasta, steak and seafood to Tribeca locals.
New look, same great food. Ivy's has had a Extreme MakeOver, the new owner Mike has brought a slick new look to this great little spot in Tribeca. The new items on the menu, like the mac & cheese are "to die for" and the familar items like the lemon chicken, are still there too. We also tried the weekend brunch and it was delicious. My wife and I give this place a 5 fork rating!
