Best vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown.
by fgattorno at Citysearch
I know this restarurant since 1997; a couple friend of mine recomended to me. It is not a fancy place or an elegant restaurant, but for sure you will find an exquisite vietnamese cuisine! Excelent dishes, nice and friendly place as well attended. If you have not experience vietnamese cuisine, this is the place to start, then you will visit always, because their dishes have a special atraction that make you visit it again.
- Pros: Excelent dishes
- Cons: Sometime it could be crowd
Horribly bad setup

Bad table setup, too many people, food was standard fare. Nothing special.
- Pros: Friendly service
- Cons: atmosphere, setup
Excellent Viet Namese
by abqfornow at Citysearch
Tiny, cheap New Pasteur is one of my favorite Viet Namese restaurants in Manhattan. Their lemon grass squid is perfect, the pho (broth with noodles and meat) is fresh and flavorful, and their traditional condensed milk hot or iced coffee is the best in the city. Lots more vegetarian options, too, than the average Viet Namese restaurant.
- Pros: Great food, low prices, prompt service
- Cons: Strictly no-frills decor
I'm Turning Vietnamese

This gem of a find in Vietnamese food may not be a jewel box in decor but a real diamond in the rough for the gastronomic delights it offers. The interior is basic and sparse of the trappings of other so called gimmicky restaurants since the food is the real draw here. My faves are the stuffed calamari, Boluclac (marinated grilled beef over rice) and the Spring Rolls. The pho' noodle soups are also fantastic with the broth itself not needing much of seasoning. Best of all, the prices makes you feel like you can splurge for less than $20.
- Pros: Cheap Prices, Good Food, Nice & Quick Service
- Cons: No Ambiance, Shared Seats if Busy
