“perfect lunch spot in soho, very cool ambience, food was great, service was quick and good and food was really creative and good.”
“basically you leave frustrated from paying too much money for poor quality food.”
“We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table, so I had a cup of coffee at the bar which was perfect.”
My favorite find. I can't say enough about this place. Its been my favorite brunch spot for years. Every time I bring friends they are always impressed by the food and the decor. And the coffee is soo good, seriously much better than any other american spots. So needless to say I go whenever I'm in the states for brunch/lunch food but I only recently tried dinner. I was so impressed! They had a authentic jazz band and the meal was INCREDIBLE. Not to mention I sat next to Claire Danes!! What an evening! ...This place is highly recommended!
BESTEST BRUNCH!!!. SO, I heard about this place, that "supposed" to have the best brunch ever. We show up and I at first was not impressed with the decor and all. But I was impressed on how busy it was and the cosiness of the place. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table, so I had a cup of coffee at the bar which was perfect. Furthermore, I was impressed with the waiter and the amazing food. Everything was fresh and perfectly balanced for a great hearty breakfast/lunch. I ordered the eggs benedict, their special french toast and brownie a la mode. Alot huh? but I couldnt resist. I will definitely be going back!!!
The last authentic place in soho.
This place is great--I've been going for years because it is one of the few places that have not changed since the 80's. The ambiance is classic and its staff nice, handsome, and fashionable. Most worthy of note are its excellent weekend brunches (and its bloody marys) and its Wednesday Night Middle Eastern Night--- the latter is hardly contrived--- in fact the owners come from that part of the world, and the proof is, indeed, in their hummus.
On normal days I like the Tahini Chicken and Skirt Steak-- the best brunch items are the omelettes-my favorite is the spinach feta- and the eggs benedict.
Contrary to what this site says, the Cupping Room is very romantic--however in this capacity I'd say drinks are more suitable than dinner. Also, if you're fortunate enough to live in the neighborhood there doesn't exist a better "local joint'" in the world..
Cozy AND Yummy.... I went in for lunch early last month, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Staples like the service and food were excellent, but I was most pleased with the relaxing atmosphere. I didn't feel pressure to leave and was able to enjoy my (rather large) latte while leisurely reading. I've been back several times since and the experience has been consistently positive. The salads are HUGE and the omlettes are very unique.... delicious. ...Very highly recomended...
Yummy Brunch. A friend recommended that I go to The Cupping Room for brunch, and he was definitely right! Go get some breakfast food & relax in the cozy atmosphere! Their selection of omelets is amazing!
Very good food.
Go for it..!!! Excellent food, Cozy ambience.!!!
All in the same place, Go and experience their new menu
Well done by their new chef sheydi rodrigues
cute brunch spot, decent food. Cute atmoshpere. The food was ok. We weren't crazy about our omlettes, but we would go again if in the area. I would say it's very average.
Best Brunch Ever. I absolutely love this place. I discovered it in 1998 when I took my parents there for brunch at a friend's suggestion. I've been going back ever since. I think every one of my friends has now had the pleasure of brunching there with me. The atmosphere is warm and lovely--like being in a very nice country kitchen. A lot of natural light filters into the room in the morning hours, and there are always fresh flowers in a tiny vase on your table. The brunch menu is just delicious. I'm a big fan of their various pancakes, waffles, and French toast. The fruit is always fresh and sweet. The omelets always come out fantastic. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and attentive. My coffee cup is never empty when I'm there. I've never been there for lunch or dinner, but if they do those meals half as well as they do brunch, it still wouldn't be bad.
Famous and Deserved, the Best Brunch in NYC!. I read a previous review of this restaurant and I was furious. I've been going to the Cupping Room for years and always thought the stuff was pretty fresh. When I read the other review and it said it wasn't, I went down for lunch to ask. Well, I'm not sure where that other guy was eating, but when I asked, they walked me over to the open kitchen and I watched the cook making omelettes from scratch. I also found out that everything is homemade: the croissants, the desserts, even the sandwich bread! I wish people would stop hating their own lives and blaming it on someone else. I mean, don't you realize this kind of thing hurts people?
don't bother. the omletes and who knows what else is premade and reheated to serve, the salads are over-priced and sandy... basically you leave frustrated from paying too much money for poor quality food.
