ambiance

  1. diva is in a great location and is always crowded.
  2. Great martinis, very good food (try the tuna tartare), nice atmosphere and great service.
  3. Great location.
  4. Not only the location and ambiance is great but also it is managed by very good, flexible, friendly people.
  5. The ambience is great -- romantically rough-edged decor that's kept a little underlit, Latin music at a volume that allows conversation, and in the summer it's open to the streetlife of Soho.
  6. The crowd is fun, but the place is not overly loud and crowded.
  7. You can actually enjoy the party you are throwing, in stead of worrying about the details, all formalities the other places make you go through ... Diva has a laidback comfortable touch... they will do everything in their power to accommodate your needs...

  1. Surprisingly, the desserts were excellent.
  2. The manager even threw in a huge home-made birthday cake for all of us.

  1. We had a great value open bar, we were allowed to use their dj booth and play our own music, and move the tables aside to create a dance floor :)) All of the staff from the managers to busboys were very friendly.
  2. Stopped in for a few drinks with coworkers, it is a great place and the service at the bar was friendly and prompt.
  3. Diva restaurant is ideal for people between 21-35 who can enjoy upbeat flamingo music while they drink and dine.
  4. perfect friday night spot for dinner and drinks!
food quality

  1. Also delicious is the Farfalle, rich in a thick white sauce and sliced salmon.
  2. The beautiful blonde hostess was extremely friendly to us (despite the crowds of people waiting for tables outside), the service was quick and efficient, the food was excellent (nothing cold!)
  3. The food is excellent, in particular the Red Snapper.
  4. Every appetizer we had was delicious.
  5. Unimpressed - bad food, bad service
  6. This place is no real Diva, while the bread was outstanding, the one piece given to you was a pathetic tease.
  7. Diva has a good personal-size pizza and a creative martini menu.
  8. The food is just great, well-prepared and presented, and tastes wonderful.
  9. Good food, super service Waiter was the man, fast seating, great place.
  10. The food was mediocre, and they forgot my mom's order entirely.
  11. The food here is so amazing!
  12. feel like a place can get away with bad service if the food is amazing or vice versa, but everything pretty much sucked and I was questioning how they could possibly stay in business running it like that.
  13. I've never had a bad meal in perhaps a dozen visits.
  14. It was such a disappointing meal and I can't think of anything redeeming about this place.
  15. The food is excellent.
  16. It's a cool place with good food.
  17. Great martinis, very good food (try the tuna tartare), nice atmosphere and great service.
  18. Their bread is the best I've had, warm and soft.
  19. The food tasted good, but for the lobster ravioli, I only got FOUR raviolis.

Avoid!!

by Ailee

Big time identity crisis here! Tacky overload! They play music obnoxiously loudly, and to make it even worse it's club music. The crowd was strange, including wannabe models and bridge and tunnel They only offer nasty overpriced club drinks. We were only here because the wait for our nearby restaurant was long and we needed a place to sit down for a drink. We would've been better off sitting on the sidewalk drinking beer bought at the deli. Avoid!!

Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff

by Yildie20

I have been going to Diva for years and it consistently delivers delicious food at a reasonable price. The lobster ravioli is incredible and the apple tart for dessert is the best!! The staff is great, and its a very relaxed and comfortable environment. The crowd is also one of the reasons I love to go back again and again. Sunday nights are an especially good time, since they have a DJ late night. I highly recommend dinner and drinks for large groups. They are very accommodating and super friendly.

Unimpressed - bad food, bad service

by jillnycnyc

My boyfriend and I stopped in here after wandering around Soho during the day and thought we'd grab a quick dinner and drink before heading home. I ordered one of the martinis off the drink menu and the server girl came back to tell me they were out of one of the alcohols in the drink...never had that happen! We had picked that place over the restaurant next door (don't remember the name at the moment) because I wanted ravioli and I ordered the mushroom ravioli. It was terrible! I didn't even finish half of it! Our server was really inattentive and didn't check on us. And when she came to take our plates, I expected her to ask if there was something wrong since I hadn't really touched my meal, but she didn't. Just gave us the bill and that was that. It was such a disappointing meal and I can't think of anything redeeming about this place. I feel like a place can get away with bad service if the food is amazing or vice versa, but everything pretty much sucked and I was questioning how they could possibly stay in business running it like that. I guess tourists are good for something!

Great place to throw a party in the city for any occassion

by Ceylac

If you want to throw a dinner party in the city for any occasion, DIVA is the place!!!! Not only the location and ambiance is great but also it is managed by very good, flexible, friendly people. You can actually enjoy the party you are throwing, in stead of worrying about the details, all formalities the other places make you go through … Diva has a laidback comfortable touch... they will do everything in their power to accommodate your needs...

We had a small wedding party at Diva in November for 26 people. And it was lovely... They arranged a long&beatiful table decorated with candles in the center. We brought small center pieces and it was simple but very sophisticated. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous atmosphere, good food and great conversation. They even let us choose the music we wanted to play... Special thanks to, Gaye (their manager) for all her help and being very flexible and accommodating... We felt like it was our own place! I will definitely plan more parties at Diva...

  • Pros: laidback comfortable touch

Diva? More like DUD

by JohnnyCotts

On the one rare occasion when I didn't order an appetizer because I usually get full to easy, I eat at a place where the portions were so tiny that I was starving when I left. The food tasted good, but for the lobster ravioli, I only got FOUR raviolis. My girlfriend ordered the tuna dish and she only got four medallions (more like slivers) of tuna with a tablespoon or two of spinach. There was double the amount of spinach than tuna (my theory was that we were supposed to fill up on the spinach). While eating, we had to take the smallest bites possible so that we didn't finish too quickly.

  • Pros: Food tasted good
  • Cons: TINY portions
