In nearly every other respect, this is a run-of-the-mill cantonese restaurant -- except for its amazing ribs. No one knows why this is so.

Great Food and Very Inexpensive. After an evening with the girls at Megu, I just need something more budget friendly. Jane suggested to go to Chinatown for some congee and that's how I was introduced to Big Wong. Oh mine, oh mine. The congee was great but the roast duck was simply unbelievable!!! Between to two of us, we finished half a duck in no time! It was actually fun to watch the Chinese around us staring at two silly girls eating duck with our fingers. I loved the food. The roast pork was great, too.

Just when I thought I had the best massage at a wonderful price and nothing could beat it, Big Wong came along and showed me that there is more than just massage to come back to NY for. Great place, indeed.

My absolute favorite in Chinatown.. I went for the first time with over ten years ago. Moved to Chicago three years ago, and I get down to the Big Wong multiple times whenever I'm back in New York. It is, in my opinion, the best Cantonese Barbecue in New York City. The roast duck, pork and ginger scallion chicken have been consistently excellent since the first time I had them, and the prices have hardly increased since 1995. Also exceptional is the fried, cruller-like sweet bread, choy sum (sp?) with oyster sauce, called "seasonal vegetable" on their menue, and pan fried egg noodles with beef or a combination of seafood. Who cares about the lack of ambience or charming wait-staff?!?!

best roast duck ever, fast service, and cheap!. they are the king of roast meats, duck, chicken, pork...it's so amazing. i love that place. i would trek there from midtown for lunch, they're service is wicked fast, you orer and it's there. you're in and out and it's pretty affordable. i usually get their roast meats over rice and that's under $5! the service is fast.

though i hate it when tourists go there and they order the fried rice and lo mein and then stare at what i'm eating. the place is known for the meat not the fried rice. their dumplings are good and so is the congee. i'm sure the fried rice is great too but i'm not a tourist. definately worth going to.

Excellent Congee. Congree w/thousand year old egg is, by far, the BEST in chinatown. Admittedly the restaurant is noisy and lacks decor... but the EXCELLENT food overwhelmingly makes up for that.

Congee + Fried Noodle + __________ = Great meal. The food there are sastifying. I often go there to eat with my family. Seating is ok even though sometimes there's alot of people. The noodle and rices dishes taste great. If you want some roast duck, pork or chicken on rice with ginger, try them out! They are located in the middle of Chinatown! The service is ok but could be better.

Cheap And Fast. Might as well be Chinese fast food with the fast service, but a fine place to eat at without breaking the bank. The food is awesome from the roast duck to the yummy congee to the various rice/noodle dishes. The wait staff is sometimes too fast for their own good and come off somewhat rude occasionally to foreign tourists. While the place isn't the most clean, don't let that turn you off before eating the food. Its worth the plunge. Now avoid the bathrooms.

Great Cheap Eat. Cheap eats at a great price! They have the best combo noodles, rices, and BBQ meats. Theres a good reason why everyone raves about their meats...its the best in chinatown! Love the tupperware, lol.

Two Rights Make Big Wong. Obviously the Chinese translation of this place does not mean Big Wong, it actually means Great Prosperity. The food here does a great service to the name (Cantonese that is...).

I fell in love with the egg noodles in the beef broth with shrimp dumplings and slices of BBQ roast pork. This dish is my favorite and I always get it when I go there and never get tired of it.

Try the congee and the donut like deep fried dough they call "Ow Ley Soh," a delicious and sweet tasting bread.

Simply some good tasting Chinese food at incredible prices...Service is not what you are coming here for...Just make sure my ice water is kept full and my tea kettle filled with piping hot tea and that's all the service I need...Big Wong is a great place to eat and fill your stomach.
