Great Food.. BUONA NOTTE is fantastic.!!!!! The food was amazing...the service was excellent, the staff made us feel at home. My party, girlfiend and I were walking about Little Italy attempting to decide where to eat. It was hard with so many selections. The calamari was so delicious, all of the food was. Next time in nyc(from los angeles) ..... I know where to go..

Good food & Friendly People!!. Buona Notte's food was very good and & the people who work there were very warm and inviting. I'm from CT (where we have tons of great Italian restaurants) and I was in NYC for the day with friends. We went to Little Italy for lunch and came across this wonderful place. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We went back to Little Italy to pick something up and they remembered us from lunch and offered us a free after dinner drink. My friends and I can't say enough about how friendly they were and how good the food was.

I know that you'll enjoy checking out this find in Little Italy.

Avoid in little Italy. I live in New York and shopuld have know better than to patronize a place where a hawking vendor tries to entice people into their establishment. My mistake.

My cabernt was poor---tasteless. Bread was stale and uninspiring (i love bread -- bread from Madonas in the Bronx is excellent -- why they would not have it here is beyond me). Penna a'la vodka came cold. My veal parm was warm at best, came with no pasta, just a tasteless potatoe croquet.. Oh, bread sticks were stale. Was not busy at the time.

More authentic on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, or pay more for quality on the upper East side

Food P**soning. Food P**soning, Need I say More?

Okay, the food was terrible, I could have spent 2 bucks and opened up a can of ravioli instead of spending a hundred bucks for someone to do it for me.

My wife spent the night driving the porcelin bus. This was the only meal we ate that day that we each had different dishes. We didn't drink but two glasses of wine so I can't blame the booze.

If you are in to food p**soning then Buona Notte is a must.

Great food, fun atmosphere. My girlfriend and I went here last Thursday night, and it was fantastic. We started the evening with the Peperoni E Mozzarella, which I thought was rather bland and boring. Not looking forward to the entree at that point, I had the Pollo Alla Sorrentina while my girlfriend had the Penne Alla Boscaiola. Both were fantastic. We regularly will try each others dish and we both thought the others meal was just fantastic. We washed it all down with a bottle of the house red, and even that was fantastic, as our waiter said it would be. The night was made complete when our waiter caught my girlfriend when she was heading back from the wash room and told her we could not leave because the guy at the table next to us was about to propose to his girlfriend. He played the part for the guy perfectly, telling him twice that his card was being declined until the guy pulled out an engagement ring and said it was all he had to pay with. After she said yes, the waiter treated the entire room to a glass of champagne for a toast. An unforgettable experience! You gotta try this place.

Absolutely Fantastic!. My wife and I were in the city to see a play Saturday, Nov. 3rd. We had reservations for a place on Mulberry St. and when we got there there was no one in the place. To me that was a bad sign, so we cancelled and went over to Angelo's, but left due to rudeness which I'll discuss in comments under that restaurant.

Anyway, we walked down the street and came upon a place that had a nice crowd, not overly crowded, and asked a patron who was leaving how the place was. He said without hesitation, awesome, this is the best place in the city, we come here all the time. So we tried it.

I found everything, from the time we were seated to the time we left, to be great. Our waiter, George, was fantastic, yet not overbearing. The appetizers were impeccable, the entrees were imaginitive and delicious and dessert (tiramasu) was out of this world.

I would absolutely go back again. This is now my spot when we go in to NYC.

Tomatoe sauce boring and bland. I ate here two weeks ago. The food was good, but any dish which had tomatoe sauce was ruined by the sauce. Their sauce was bland and a huge disappointment.

Molto Bene. Second time to Buona Notte... First time was on a date, this time was entertaining out of town guests. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night (4 of us), without reservations. Bread and water were on the table within a minute. We did have to ask for the wine list, but found it to have a good variety and very reasonable prices for bottles. The food was DELICIOUS and the portions were just perfect. We shared an appetizer and each had a different entree. All 4 of us were more than pleased. We will certainly be going back... hopefully soon!

pasta with a side of bigot?. Unfortunately, I won't be able to comment on the food given that we were forbidden to even step foot into the restaurant in the first place. My friends and I were prepared to enter when one very rude service person handing out menus denied our entrance simply because we were Chinese. He did, however, allow an Italian friend of ours to go inside to get a business card. Don't count on us ever calling though. Though it's not fair to judge the entirety of the establishment based on a run-in with one bigot worker, it definitely is an appetite killer considering Chinatown is just a couple of blocks away- you'd think some people would be more understanding.
