Yum!. My boyfriend and I went to Paesano for his birthday. We both had the lobster ravioli, which was absolutely delicious! It looked like there were a lot of other good things on the menu, too, most of which were very reasonably priced. It has a great, authentic Italian atmosphere that adds a lot to the place. Check it out if you are in the Mullberry Street area!
BEST pizza ever!. Just the best. Best crust, cheese, sauce, pepperoni, and sausage. I wish they could mail it to WA state!!
Homestyle Italian Cooking in the Heart of Little Italy.
I used to work in the area & have eaten here numerous times. I enjoy taking friends here every chance I get because I know they will enjoy the experience. During the warmer months, there is outdoor seating which is great for people watching on Mulberry St. The inside decor reminds one of a remote restaurant tucked away in a small town in Italy - very warm & cozy.
I had 2 friends visiting from Michigan last night & I decided to take them to Paesano's. There are numerous restaurants to choose from in Little Italy, yet there was a short wait before we were seated because the place was full. It's always a good sign when people are willing to wait instead of going to another restaurant.
Since the staff remembered me because I've eaten there so many times, I was greeted with a big smile & a handshake. The bread & water were brought to the table immediately after we were seated & our drink orders were taken. I had the linguini pescatore [which I've had many times before] & a caesar salad. One of my friends had a caesar salad & the veal parmigiana as an entree. My other friend had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer & the chicken francese as an entree. All entrees come with a side of pasta, which is always cooked just right. The seafood is always fresh & the sauces taste like homemade. The bread is constantly refilled, which helps clear the remaining sauce from the plate [I come form a long line of sauce dunkers...LOL]. After the meal, we were served samboca's as an after dinner cordial on the house. I had a cappucino & my friends had coffee to complete the meal.
I'm Italian descent & grew up eating Italian food. Although they would hate to hear it, this cooking rivals the meals preared by my mom & grandmother.
Paesano's menu is wide & varied. I personally recommend the linguini pescatore, veal parmigiana, & the chicken cacciatore. There is an ample wine list & a full bar to compliment this dining experience. The portions are family style - hearty & satisfying.
Not Bad At All. The food is great. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants; its cute but could be a bit crowded at times. Fettucini Alfredo comes with bits of bacon which adds its unique touch. Bread is good and wine is delicious. A treasure in Little Italy.
Average-not bad, not great. Cute place, good service, reasonable prices. Food was average, though. Not bad, but not good enough to want to come back. Would be good for quick lunch, but not nice dinner. The bread was very supermarket 99 cent quality, disappointing for NYC. Service was very good-attentive, but not overbearing. I guess you do get what you pay for. I do think the recent high ratings are overrating.
Great!. Right in the heart of Little Italy, this restaurant has a variety of Italian dishes to choose from, all VERY reasonably priced. We've sampled many of the various meals served, and they have all been GREAT! The service is always good, and the House wine is definitely recommended.
GREAT ITALIAN!. OMG, I ate here back in april for the first time, and it was excellent! I took my mom, cousin and aunt here who wanted great italian while in new york, and everything we ordered was AWESOME! they were sooo impressed, i had the lasagne, amazing, best i've ever had, my cousin got a salad and it had the best dressing, my mom got linguine with garlic and butter, and it was great, very garlicy, which we like, my aunt got chicken marsala and omg fantastic!!!!! definitely authentic italian!
Amazing Italian, Best I've EVER HAD!!!. Paesano is amazing, I've gone there 2 separate times and each time was amazing with the food, service, and ambience. With all the restaurants to choose from on Mulberry St, why Paesano? Because the food is unsurpassably amazing, servings are huge and one taste will make you just pause and be in awe. Trust me, check this place out, beautiful setting, well priced, good service. A gem of a find!!
Don't listen to other reviews.... My experience here was great! the food and service was excellent, he was very attentive and my lasanga was excellent, very reasonably priced i had a plate that could of easily fed two for only 11 dollars. It was GREAT! Highly recommended!
Mediocre Meal in Little Italy. We stopped here because of the relatively cheaper prices compared to the other tourist traps lining Mulberry Street. The biggest problem, aside from careless service (everyone at our table got the wrong thing) is the tasteless food. I had the lobster ravioli, which was listed under specials. While the sauce was admittedly tasty, I could barely taste any lobster in the ravioli, it tasted like the frozen variety. The chicken cacciatore was even more mediocre. I'd choose another option--far from Little Italy, if possible.
