Nice Lounge / Really Great Food. People may think that the lobby lounge of the Soho Grand is just for guests, but I go there all the time. I rarely wait for a table, (hope this remains true after this review), the service is efficient and the food and drinks are great. It has a sexy atmosphere and is terrific if you are going out with business associates and want a place where you can actually have a conversation. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed. It's a nice place for date night, as well, and good for before or after a show. I have been going for years and never had a bad meal!

Worst place for brunch ever. Although we had a lunch reservation nobody has ever shown up to bring us the menue and/or take our order. After ca 30 min we asked the concierge to get our order in. After approx 40 min a waiter finally showed up at our table. Although they had jam and marmelade on the table there was no bread and butter. Since we were starving after the long wait we asked for bread. The waiter offered us toast which we accepted. After another while our food was finally served. The eggwhite frittata was the tiniest portion I have ever seen. Although I am on a diet that was not enough food for me and I ordered Caesar's salad which was very bland and overpriced. After that dissatisfying service and meal the bill arrived. They had added a 20% gratuity automatically to the check and charged USD 7 for the toast. When we talked to the hotel manager about this she defended her policy and the way things were handled in a very non convincing way. She also demonstrated a rather arrogant attitidude. All in all a horrible brunch experience. Every diner in NYC would have done a better job. Also, although this place was described as very dog friendly the waiters never offered to bring her water but simply ignored her.

Chic, relaxed, great place to start the night off!. I come here at least once a week to have dessert and a cocktail with my girlfriends. The scene is dressy, yet relaxed; the atmosphere is welcoming, yet chic. They are very accomodating here - one time they let us sit at a table without a reservation (sorry, my group of hot friends were overcrowding the bar), which was great. The crowd is mixed with the young and the old, the tourists and the locals, the hipsters and the not-so-hip folk. It's a great place to unwind after a long week, and the drinks are delicious! I would highly recommend it for a low-key night.

Nestled inside the Soho Grand Hotel, an inviting, upscale lounge perfect for something special.. The Scene
You'll probably need a raise if you plan to hang out often at the bar of the swank Soho Grand Hotel. Its comfy chairs and clubby atmosphere don't come cheap, with pricey martinis served in tumblers and a confidently overpriced selection of appetizers on the menu. The large floor area means that service can be slow even when the lounge isn't busy, although you have to sympathize with the waitresses who clip back and forth in their stiletto boots.

The Draw
The well-chosen roster of downtempo DJs attracts a crowd of stylish after-work drinkers, who blend seamlessly with the well-heeled hotel guests. Try a superb Grand Margarita (Sauza Commemorativo, Cointreau, fresh lime and OJ) or the Perfect 10 (stoli vanilla, pineapple juice, lemon and lime), and soak in the special-occasion atmosphere that makes it all feel worthwhile.

great night out. Grand Bar and Lounge, as well as the Salon, are a great place to spend an evening out with your sexiest friends! They are really kickin', hot djs (Ursula1000), beautiful bartenders, really good food and, I must say, recent changes to the wine list are quite a treat. Try a glass of NY Reisling, I was surprised that good wine was produced in New York State! Other highlights from my night drinking were an excellent glass of Pinot Muenier (what is that?) and the staff was so helpful.

THE WORST. For my birthday, i thought the Soho Grand would be a great place to celebrate. after waiting on the list for a table for a half an hour (after waiting outside the hotel to get in), we were seated and opened a tab. after 45 minutes, the waitress closed our tab without consent. we were told that they had another reservation---(at 1 am, no less), which we were NOT told when we were seated. nobody was waiting---we simply weren't spending enough money--which seems impossible as each drink is at least $12, and there were 10 of us!!! ladies, if you're looking for the graybeards, look no further. the waitstaff is incredibly rude and full of themselves, for no obvious reason. if you feel like being treated poorly and spending a lot of money, the soho grand is your place!

Cool Place. I LOVE the CoCo Cannal Martini. It's amazing! It tastes like a milkshake.

Cool Scene. Cool Lounge. Good music.

it's a sham!!!. Just a few people dressed well in the mix of what seemed to be a snowstorm of midwestern poorly dressed people on a Saturday night!!! Very bad shoes on almost everyone. Terrible, cheap looking couches, bad service and a crowd that would sell their souls to the devil for a little hipness. I'll never go back.

Land of the beautiful and trendy. This bar/lounge is basically what you would expect to find in one of the hippest boutique hotels in manhattan. The lounge is attractive, but you may have to wait to get a seat (unfortunately you can't smoke in the lounge part, you must go into the barroom). The drinks are good, and a little strong. The crowd is beautiful, hip, and with no visible income. The service however is absolutely horrendous; extremely slow, in fact the waitress couldn't even bother bring us our check after we asked her for it.
