When your in the mood for pizza go somewhere else
by KDRDC at Citysearch
We brought my Italian father in-law to little Italy for the 1st time in 30 years for quickie lunch before we went up town for a Broadway show.
One might think you could get a good pizza there.
We did over look the fact that our waitress only spoke Russian and did not seem to understand the universal work for Coke a Cola or will start with "two Cokes please"! We ordered Pizza for three and we got a 7 inch pizza made from frozen for $9.95 with four small hard crust sections.
Great Pizza -Awesome Desserts in Little Italy

My husband and I were walking around town this past weekend and were close to Little Italy. We were hungry but werent in the mood for a fancy sit-down dinner on Mulberry Street; we did, however, want some good pizza and no place better to get it than in Little Italy. We stopped in the first place we saw, Sambuca's Cafe, and split a pizza, which was perfectly delicious. Of course, I couldnt resist the overwhelming selection of desserts (there are so many and they all looked so yummy) and decided to go with their specialty- cannoli. I got a chocolate one and my husband got a vanilla one! They were AMAZING to say the least!!! Sambuca's Cafe is definitely a place we will be visiting every time we are in or near Little Italy. We have also already discussed bringing our next out-of-town-company here for cappuccino and desserts!!
- Pros: adorable cafe--perfect pizza--delicious desserts
- Cons: absolutely none--will be back
Still Great Desserts!!

I wrote a previous review where every time I go to NYC, I have to go here for the tiramisu. Nothing has changed! I was in the city last week with my 11 year old nephew and we came here twice. He loved it as much as I do! The tiramisu is still homemade and the best in town. He got the chocolate cake and practically licked the plate. This is still the best place to go for dessert after eating at one of the other Mulberry street restaurants. I know I'm back in NY when I'm sitting outside at Sambuca's with a piece of tiramisu and an iced vanilla latté. It doesn't get any better!...
- Pros: The desserts, Outside seating
- Cons: Waitstaff slow bringing the checks
cozy n great coffee...

The desserts taste the same as anywhere else in the city (canoli n strawberry cheesecake). The coffee. Now there's something to brag about. One of the finest. Many types-had the amartto. The service is great considering there was only one waitress.
Good coffee....

They make the best flavored coffees in New York City without a doubt. The cakes and pastries are the usual though, Italian-american style and NOT Italian quality.
