horrible – HORRIFIC..WORST EVER..UNPROFESSIONAL. Went for a perm. The woman totally refused to dry my hair..sent me out with a wet head..why ..because she totally messed up my perm.. Unprofessional behavior. And this was not my first perm either. They are refusing to give me a refund. Not only are they terrible but their parent corporation called "The Regis Corporation" is just as disgusting. Do not go here unless you would like to look like your dog if it happens to be a poodle..No hairdressers their speak audible english and they are just gross..You have a better chance at a good haircut with a flobee and an olglevie home perm..Save your money and your time and your looks...I promise..They mess up but you are the one left with ruined hair and looking like a complete fool..
Not worth the low price – I've been here twice now (location based desperation) and regretted it both times.
Today, not only did I get a haphazard cut from an uninterested "beautician", I got the worst shampoo of my life (kind of smeared around for half a second) and it was improperly rinsed so I am now walking around with greasy hair. Really uninterested, uncaring staff.
Don't come here – Horrible, horrible, horrible,,,,,that sums up my experience at Jean Louise David Hair Salon. First of all, I went to the salon for highlights and a cut. They never even asked me what color highlights I wanted , the colorist came and started without any warning. Secondly she rushed through the cut again without asking what I wanted until she already started. The best part of the whole experience was when she told me I was finished and my hair was still sopping wet. I told her to dry it and she told me "your hair will dry as you walk home:...IT WAS 25 DEGREES OUTSIDE.
Wish I had read the reviews – I can honestly say I have never been treated as poorly as I was at this "salon. My robe was barely in place and once the cutting began I ended up with hair everywhere. I had brought a picture of a cut I wanted to modify which Farida took about 15 seconds to look at and without any consultation she grabbed a buzzer and started hacking at my hair. I NEVER allow anyone to cut my hair with a buzzer. Not once did she pick up a pair of shears. I couldn't even protest as she was too busy singing along to the blaring Kylie Minogue soundtrack. The entire experience took a total of 9 minutes as I was rushed in and out. There might as well be a drive-thru because these salons (and I use that term loosely) are heading the way of fast food- no service and cheap.
Editorial Review – With more than 10 locations throughout the city, this walk-in-only hair salon offers both cuts and convenience.
Bring an interpreter – If you dare go to this salon, bring an interpreter. The staff dos not speak english well. I tried to explain to my stylist I wanted my hair cut to my shoulder, all one lenght. She couldn't understand what all one lenght meant until she said, "Like a Bob?" I said, yes, all one lenght like a bob. Big mistake. I ended up with a bob, cut off my shoulders. A nice cut, but not what I wanted.
Don't do it! You will regret it. – I realize that you can save a good deal of money by going here but let me tell you that it isn't worth it. You will have you hair screwed up by these incompetent people and no amount of money or savings is ever worth that.
The person who cut my hair did not even use scissors at all! She did everything with clippers! I mean everything. I think a $7 place would have done a better job.
Even worse than that is how cheap they are. There are no real barber's chairs, just little director's chairs. They make you change into a smock at the beginning which is usually good as it keeps hair away from your clothes, but these people use the smock as a substitute for the cutting cape. SO YOU WILL GET HAIR ALL OVER YOUR ARMS! And also your pants.
GREAT Haircut – I don't know about the experience of the 2 other reviewers but one of the girls here has been cutting my hair for a couple years now and I refuse to go anywhere else. Being 40 years old and having moved a lot in my lifetime, I've been to many a hair salon. I can honestly say that the cut and value I receive at this location is by far the best I've had in my lifetime......and my biggest critic, my wife agrees
Unacceptable – I joined Citysearch for the sole purpose of writing a review about my experience at Jean Louis David. The price of $24 sounds reasonable coupled with the percived atmosphere but this is an outragous price when you have to pay another salon to fix your hair. I explained that I had been growing out my hair for the last 6 months and wanted a trim and to add texture. They do not use scissors- "we use machine-machine work good"- the razor works as well as their collective usage of the english language. In seven minutes your will leave with a mullet- DO NOT GO HERE.
Chop Shop – The worst haircut of my life. I am counting the days until it is long enough to go to someone who knows what they are doing and get it fixed. I had a picture and my hair started out pretty close to the photo- just needed a trim- got a hack job instead. Two hours later it was a mess and she still wasn't finished. My stylist did not speak fluent English and there was a serious miscommunication- I would NEVER go back to this location.
