The Scene – The Drawing Center, established in 1977, is the only nonprofit space in the country dedicated entirely to drawings. One of just a handful of alternative art spaces left in Soho, a neighborhood deserted by the commercial art scene, it succeeds in attracting art lovers from all over the city with its historical and contemporary exhibitions.
