The Scene – Entering this neighborhood treasure is like stepping back in time to a favorite college-era bakery, where pretty women in bandanas worked behind the counter to make enough money to ride off with Jerry and company during the summer. The vibe is hard to resist, and there's a single small table for anyone who wants to linger. – – The Food – These desserts have a cultish following, and it's easy to understand why--nothing on the menu administers anything less than a spectacular dose of sugar. Addictive red velvet cupcakes come slathered in an icing that's as…
It was the worst cupcakes I've ever tasted in my life.

their cupcakes are way over priced and they are served brick hard. Their cupcakes are also topped with some type of whip cream that disgusting. I just don't recommended anybody waste their money on the cupcakes. Each cupcake is $2.50 when each cupcake is worth .50 seriously.
NOT WORTH THE WAIT OR THE MONEY , its all HYPE!

I went there today to finally try this most talked about bakery with excellent cup cakes, well I was VERY disappointed !! Thank god I didn't wait on line today, I was able to get in right away. I purchased the red velvet cup cake and the chocolate one and the were both DRY.
I will never go back there and there are a lot of other places that sell great cupcakes.
- Cons: very dry, pricey, and not worth the wait on a long line...
What a joke

Was excited to go to Magnolias just like everyone else. I got 4 cupcakes, one was red velvet with sugary coolwhip icing, the other with chocolate icing, and the other 2 where nearly unidentifiable. One had german chocolate icing, but the cake didn't look or taste like chocolate to me. The other had some swirled white and brown icing with no taste and some sort of spiced cake. All 4 where dry and crumbly and half the size of other competitors. I've had better Duncan Heinz. Sad that they are making a fortune off those things.
- Pros: The excitement in line
- Cons: Had better grocery store cupcakes
