Hi Bob. This is to a good friend. Thanks for all the Bruce. If you ever threaten me physical harm again, the last time being 20 years ago, i will laugh just like i did then. Have a nice day Bob.

okay records, bad people. The records were okay, but the people who worked there were such a**holes, I wouldn't go there again if you put a gun to my head.

Nice selection, but overpriced. Unhelpful employees with terrible attitudes.. I went to look through their 45s. Not only do they not have a turntable for listening, but the 45s are extremely pricey. The employees seemed burdened to have to answer any questions, and when they did answer they were brief. I recommend Bleeker Bob's over this joint any day of the week.

If you know a big fan, this is where to pick up one of their favorite band's arcane imports.. The Space
A big (nice and cool in the summer, I might add) room with a constant buzz of activity, though it never seems to get crowded. The walls are bedecked with rare or just aesthetically pleasing albums from floor to ceiling--Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, say, or the Lat-teens, or all four KISS members' solo albums in a tasteful display.

What They've Got
Fifty percent CDs, 50 percent vinyl. Everything, in every sense of the word--not only do they have a full complement of genres, but they also have incredible density: 31 Rolling Stones CDs! 15 Ani Di Franco CDs! Hell, 10 Chumbawumba CDs! Bleecker Street also features live discs by seemingly everyone, as well as all kinds of general rarities which could easily lure one into deep Visa debt--like that $99 Velvet Underground CD (OK, it's a two-disc set).

Best of Bleeker. If you are searching for a specific album on vinyl or just enjoy browsing records, this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for a CD from an artist who may not be that well known, go to Virgin. Atmospere is fun, in a great part of Bleeker St., so even if you don't find anything, you are garaunteed to find something nearby.

AKA Bleeker Bob's. Good and bad. The dude is nice, they have some interesting stuff, but look for the offbeat. I found a vinyl copy of the Harlem Underground Band for $12, what a record. With that memory, I will go back, however don't look for anything well known on vinyl, they'll iron the pleats right out of your khakis, you Friday night tourist--remember this is Bleeker St. I was at the Sunday fair at the school on 82nd and Columbus or Amsterdam, whichever; I saw a copy of the Dead Kennedy's Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables with the poster included for $5. I already owned it, but still thought about buying it. Well Bleeker Bob ended up snatching that record. It's now on sale for $50! This store is ok, but does not deserve a place on the top ten, neither do most of the other selections here. Bad chef.
