What you need to know about me...1.) I used to work here back at the turn of the century, 2.) I've always sort of have liked the food, and 3.) I've been here twice in the last month and a 1/2. Which is why I have to say... YOU HAVE TO AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I went with my GF for a late-drink and small meal. We were sat (the high point of the visit) and then given our menus. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa and were told it was $2 DOLLARS. Mind you, this isn't $2 for unlimited chips and salsa, but PER SERVING. We had been there just recently and were not charged in this manner. I asked for the manager and was told they had been doing it for 2 months. Whatever. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. But that was just the start. Next we ordered margaritas. Of course, the waitress tried to up-sell the drink to the $14, large drink in which you get to keep the souvenier glass. But we asked for the regular sized (smaller) drink. She returned the LARGE DRINK anyway and when I refused them and reminded her that we asked for the small ones, she was nice and went to get them. She then RETURNED AGAIN WITH THE LARGE DRINK AND THE SMALL GLASSES so we could see how much bigger they were than the small in hope of just taking the large. What you have to know is that THIS IS COMMON PRACTICE. I can recount many times while working there that they would give us the wrong size at the bar and when the customer refused I was told to sell it anyway by showing them the small glasses. IT'S A SCAM. The was food average to below-average (Guacamole was okay but just as expensive as the Rosa Mexicano or Dos Caminos and not nearly as good). FOR THE MONEY, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!!!

Pros: Conveniently Located

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE!!!

This place is really expensive and caters to the tourist crowd. If you want good authentic mexican food there are plenty of better places in the city, particularly in Spanish Harlem.

Cons: Chain restaurant, expensive, not authentic
