Editorial Review for Sevilla Restaurant & Bar – by Kathleen Squires
In Short
The interior time-warps diners back to the days when the West Village was known as "Little Spain" with matador and flamenco dancer portraits, comfy booths, Tiffany-style lamps and bustling old-time servers. Longstanding fans line the bar while young newcomers, weary of waits at packed, trendy neighbors, spill into the comfortable dark-paneled dining room. In addition to the famous paellas, patrons favor piquillo peppers, garlic-doused mussels, two types of bacalao and various veal preparations.

Great!! real food, the food takes forever but when they bring it, it's hot and in the pan, they leave the same pan that they cooked it from with you until you're done. No microwaved restaurant food, pretty high priced, but worth it hight quality food. Wouldn't recommend for vegetarians that don't eat fish because menu consists of meat and seafood, one item with a lot of vegetable, basically a vegetable rice mix, but for the price I would've like some eggplant or fake meat.
Pros: location, spanish cuisine
Cons: vegetarian menu options

The experience at Sevilla started terribly when our reservation for nine people was downright ignored. My friend called three times (twice to change the number of people for the reservation) and the available table was confirmed during each call for, what in the end, was a nine person reservation. The host told one of us that we never had a reservation but then told another one of my friends that he could seat us in 10 minutes. We went to the bar for a drink but the waiters were angry that we were in their way and were very rude about it. They seated a few groups before us that had NO reservation at all. After more than 30 minutes cramped into the bar area, we were seated in a long booth with a table added to the end of it. The waiter didn't seem thrilled to serve us. I didn't blame him, I was sitting all the way in the booth and had to practically yell across the restaurant to ask him a question. It was definitely a less than optimal setup. Now to the food & drink - The sangria is delicious. I had a 1.5 pound lobster for $21 and it was equally delicous. The Paella can feed an army so I think it may be worth paying the extra plate charge ($3.75) and just share. If the host hadn't been so rude, I may have recommened this place if you are in the neighborhood. The food is average and so it's not worth putting up with the cramped seating and rude staff. There are a plethora of good places to eat in this neighborhood... explore those restaurants and not this one.
Pros: paella, neighborhood
Cons: rude host
