You'll feel right at home.. I love this place my brother and I found Casa one day after work looking for a place to eat on the West Village. I'm so glad we went in, I felt as if I was back home in South America in my grandmother's house eating. So amazing the juiciest pork chops I have ever had. We've been back since to celebrate birthdays and also just to enjoy a good time with family. I completely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy some amazing Brazilian food.

Great food, best caipirinha ever!. Casa is my favorite restaurant in New York -- it's charming and cozy, good for a romantic dinner (come earlier in the evening, when the restaurant is quieter), a meal with a friend, or even a larger group (I've hosted two dinner parties here for groups of 10-15). I've dined here dozens of times, and it's never once disappointed.

The food is perfect -- like a hearty, home cooked brazilian meal. Among the appetizers, don't miss the shrimp cake and the yucca fries. My favorite entrees are the moqueca and the xinxim. The coconut-plum pudding for desert is stellar.

I've had caipirinhas in many bars in many cities in the world, but the ones here are hands-down the best outside Brazil -- real cachaca and just the right mix of sweet and tart.

Be warned: the service can be leisurely, but they're always obliging. Definitely make reservation -- Casa fills up fast.

Wow! Some of the best Latin American food anywhere!. Was taken here on a business dinner by a Brazilian business acquaintance on a Monday night and really enjoyed it. He ordered for us and picked out some really excellent dishes. I ordered the Chilean Carmenere Gran Reserva that came slightly chilled and was oh so delicious. What a value! Was I really in Manhattan or was this a dream? We started with some bean soup that came out in what appeared to be an espresso shot glass. A watery, pungent, spicy brown bowl of delicious. My entree was an organic chicken dish with sides of rice and okra. The chicken was garlicky and so soft it fell of the bone. Really tasty. Did I mention how good the wine was? The desert was a flan that had some kind of coconut in it. The coffee drink was somewhere in between an American coffee and an espresso in an espresso tasse - quite good as well.

The only negative was that we were right next to our neighbors. Oh right, we really are in Manhattan.

Highly recommended. But please wear Deodorant : )

Excellent food, very slow service. Anything I have eaten or drunk at Casa ranges from good to excellent. However, the wait times for a table, even with a reservation, are excruciating. The staff is extremely slow but they are also very pleasant. Overall, the experience is like taking a trip to Brazil - things are very slow, but ultimately worth the wait. And even though I am a Manhattanite, I keep going back!

Awful Service. The service here is very poor - we had to repeatedly flag down waiters for any service, no-one ever came by to check if things were OK (which they weren't) and after the meal we sat for 20 minutes before the plates were cleared (again only because we flagged down a waiter). After all that the woman who seemed to be in charge was argumentative and generally uninterested.

All in all not a good experience. This is a small restaurant, they literally have to walk past every table to service any other table. There is no excuse for such amateur mistakes with premium pricing.

Food is fine, but there are so many places to eat in NYC this one is not worth a visit.

Yum Yum Brazilian food. the best I've ever had in this city. period. Oh my god. This place is sooo good especially if you go when you're hungry.

I went there Friday night so the place was already crowded and loud, which I don't think is ideal for this kind of small space. I will defnitely try to go on a night when it's quieter.

Other than that, we ordered delcious drinks and a fantastic shrimp tamale-like appetizer.

Loved the main dishes which gave HUGE portions but didn't compromise on quality. My date ordered the garlic filet-mignon and it was so juicy delicious.

Because the place was so crowded they actually needed to give up our seats to waiting customers, but they were so kind about it, offering us drinks and dessert at the bar on the house for the inconvenience. I will definitely go here again when I'm really hungry and in the mood for something that hits the spot.

Quaint and delicious!. After packing in to Casa to grab a bite to eat with 2 other friends we managed to squeeze up to the bar for a glass of wine. The interior of Casa can best be described as quaint and romantic, although the small bar (hardly large enough for the 3 of us to gather around) made manuvering difficult. Once seated our taste buds were in for a treat. I shared the national dish of Brasil with a friend and it was a symphony of flavors. The portions are large but what they have in quantity they surely do not lack in taste. It did get a bit loud as our dinner commenced - I blame the Saturday night crowd and the flowing drinks - but I didn't find it to hinder my conversations. Overall Casa is a wonderful restaurant with wonderfully prepared traditional cusine. I will be back again and again.

Best food I've eaten in New York City. I eat out A LOT! And this is so far the best food I have ever eaten in NYC... i ordered the "national dish of Brasil" ansd still dream about it... the drinks were amazing as well. Just one thing... go hungry! portions are huge! Everything was fresh and so tasty. Just made reservations again and can't wait to go back.

Charming Brasilian. Casa really stands out in a neighborhood where every other restaurant is exactly the same. Charming ambience, great food, delicious sides and appetizers. The service really pushed the cocktails but was pleasant in general. Also not expensive. I will definitely return.

Best Brazilian in town. I'm from Brazil and have been to all Brazilian restaurants in the city. This the most genuine brazilian food in nyc with a very cozy atmosphere. Unlike a churrascaria, it is authentic home cooking. Doesn't get more delicious than this. The caipirinhas and pao de queijo, which are rarely authentic in nyc, are perfect. The picanha, filet mignon, and frango com quiabo entrees are very good. So is the side of beans. All of the desserts are delightful. And the musical selection includes classics you normally dont hear outside Brazil.

(By the way, the review below, from avyanakos, is ridiculously pretentious for a very un-pretentious restaurant. The food doesn't "meld together as perhaps intended"? "not distinguishingly brazilian"? Please, unless you are a Brazilian chef, cut the boloney)
