“It has the best food, service, atmosphere, and value of any of many Indian places I have tried.”
Great Food, Great Price!.
My girlfriend & I had a great time at this place! We ordered two entrées, an appetizer and two glasses of wine, and the bill only came to $32 - did I mention that they threw in free after dinner tea and dessert?
Our waiter (I think he was the owner) was extremely friendly, and recommended some great entrées for us. We will definitely be back!
Cheap Dependable Indian Eats. Solid, dependable and cheap Indian food. Only item I wouldn't recommend so far is the keema matar: it seemed a bit bland, and that's even ordered "very spicy" (which is how I with my steel tongue always order Indian food).
Great and cheap!. I love this place. I just happened across it one time when my mom was visiting, and we were both incredibly pleasantly surprised. The staff are SO friendly and attentive, and you get so much food for such a small price. I highly recommend the chana sag. I love it there and highly recommend it!!!
Great.. Its the best Anglo Indian curry hut in Manhattan and I have been to them all. The only thing I wouldn't have is the Biryani, everything else is Pukka ! (The owner is from Nothampton)
stumble into ghandi cafe. Ghandi cafe is by far the best indian spot in the downtown area. i love the atmosphere its sooo cozy and red. excellant food i always make a point of eating there, so cheap and alot of food. the staff is very attentive. Straight up indian food without all th hype
I love it.. This is my fave Indian Rest. so far in NY. I love the food and the staff is super nice. They bring a complementary pudding and spiced chai tea at the end of each meal. Generally, the owner is there greeting all of the cutomers with his friendly smile. Great lunch specials. Great food. Wonderful dishes.
surprisingly good. I was suprised when I ducked into this restaurant to get out of the rain. Vegetable samosas were cooked differently, and looked like balls of fried string onions/potatoes. Very filling, although it just tasted like fried onions. Chicken vindaloo and vegetable vindaloo were super spicy and delicious. Very large portions for a cheap price! Naan was good as well. Pappadam was too oily and stale. Free rice pudding and herbal tea was served at end of meal. Not the best Indian food, but pretty good for cheap Indian food!
