“The wine was exceptional - I found my favorite wine at half the price of restaurants of similar great quality.”
“The fish is always fresh, and the prices are very reasonable.”
“I've never had to wait for a table, the food has been consistently good, the wine selection isn't vast, but it's reasonably priced, and the service is excellent.”
“If a good friend asked me of a good place to eat in Manhattan I'd recommend this place.”
“All of us enjoyed our meals and will be back again.”
“The service is good, it's decently priced, and the food is really phenomenal.”
“But this is a good deal restaurant, well worth the money, nothing worthy of the raves I'm reading.”
old fish.
i went yesterday to this restaurant and had the antipasto della casa (lots of cooked veggies) which was good.
Then I had the mixed grilled seafood w/ a side of pasta w/ garlic & olive oil.
The seafood was one shrimp, one squid head..(no body or tencacles) 2 small scallops and a 3/4 pieces of fish fillets which tasted OLD and soggy!
Very disappointed to this seafood lover!
The pasta was good..a perfect al dente
one of my favorite places. I live right around the block to this restaurant and I love it. The service is good, it's decently priced, and the food is really phenomenal. My favorite dish so far is the brook trout and it comes with pasta on the side. I've eaten here atleast 5 times already and plan on eating there a lot more. If a good friend asked me of a good place to eat in Manhattan I'd recommend this place.
Go early to get a good table..
Years ago I went to a family style Italian restaurant on Columbus Ave. near 72nd St. called Al Buno Gusto (Sp). they had great food. Pesce Pasta reminded of that place. Freindly Italian waiters, great service and exceptional food. I haven't been to their other places, but I'm sure they are just as good.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very cozy. We had dinner here tonight and enjoyed it very much. Very cozy...very reasonable, we felt like we were back in Tuscany. The room is small but the tin ceilings and tuscan yellow walls made the room warm and inviting. The service was just right...did not feel rushed. It was a spur of the moment choice (for my birthday dinner) and we would go back. We had the chicken romano and tartufo and it was all delicious. It is located in a great neighborhood for walking and shopping.
great wine. The wine was exceptional - I found my favorite wine at half the price of restaurants of similar great quality. The staff couldn't have been friendler or accomodating
very romantic. very romantic for dates, every dish is delicious, very courteous staff, good wine selection, everything was great - highly recommended
Great Fish and Pasta in a Neighborly Locale.
I have been here 3 times now and really appreciate this restaurant for what it is: a pasta restaurant with plenty of fresh fish nightly, hence the name.
Standout pastas include gnocchi, seafood lasagna, and lobster ravioli (on the specials list). Also, this place always has an array of fresh seafood on the nightly specials. I must caution you about the fish, though. Most of the fish is prepared with olive oil and salt and garnished with a lemon and nothing more. If that's not your style, then I might suggest that you stick with a pasta or one of the items on the regular menu. The pasta fagioli soup is also a good order, but there is way more fagioli than pasta in it, and it's a bit more viscous than usual.
The lemon sorbet comes frozen inside of an actual lemon and is refreshingly sweet with a sourness that actually ends the meal quite well. The tiramisu is tasty but not spectacular. All in all, I really enjoy dining here because of the laid-back, cozy atmosphere and reliable fare. I don't hands-down recommend it as "the" place to go in the Village for Italian, but I can always count on it and will likely continue dining here.
Great Meal!. Four of us walked in off the street and had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was very kind and attentive. The food was wonderful. All of us enjoyed our meals and will be back again. Was the best meal we had in NY this weekend.
Best Risotto in town. I have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. The seafood and mushroom risottos are delicious. The service is always friendly and helpful. Split the lasagna as an appetizer for the table. I love this place. I only wish they had a bar area where you could wait for your table. The pull handle in the restroom is right out of the Godfather.
A happy staple of the neighborhood. I have only been to the one in the Village, but I'm generall in love. This is a wonderful place to go when you want a nice dinner out without a crowd. I've never had to wait for a table, the food has been consistently good, the wine selection isn't vast, but it's reasonably priced, and the service is excellent. My only real wish is that they would allow takeout and delivery. No, it may not be a 10 in comparison with every restaurant in the city, but I have always left happy, relaxed, and well-fed and I can't say that about even some of the top 10s of the city.
