Editorial Review for Burrito Loco Restaurant – by Paul Adams

In Short
Despite its cheesy name and exterior--neon beer signs and cartoon cacti, suggestive of nothing more than a run-of-the-mill kitschy Ameri-Mexican dive--a peek at the menu reveals a wealth of authentic-style Mexican dishes, such as cold avocado soup, fried pieces of pork with mole sauce, and parchment-cooked lamb. The atmosphere is festive, with weekly events and a nightly happy hour involving cheap tamarind, coconut, and "Hawaiian" margaritas.

I too experienced this problem. My first trip I couldn't stop raving to my BF about the place so the next time we were up for Mexican I invited him along. We had the same experience with the bill seeeming "off". Because we were with coworkers, we didn't make a big deal of it and just paid. However, that being said, I don't think it was equitable to take advantage of our group considering we stayed there and ordered food and tipped VERY well. It doesn't affect that the food was nice and the waitstaff was friendly, but it does keep me from returning -- something that should be considered by management when they make the decision to allow this to happen.

Pros: Food is good, Waitstaff is nice

Cons: Space is small for # of tables, happy hour rules are complicated (or manipulated)

Not only the false happy hour ad they have and did not honore even though I spoke to the Manager who lied offering free round and never did but 4 minutes before happy hour was up I ordered another round of drinks and they said that it will be at full price because the register had the clock forward 10 minutes and they could not do anything about it, WHAT A SCAM!, oviously they are money thirsty and don't care about the customers. Aren't the restaurants audited in new york? if not I will and won't be going there anymore nor my friends and anybody I talk to, luckly there are thousands of mexican rests in N.Y. Mr. Burrito loco, don't treat your csr that way cause you will be going out of business, my table spent that night over $200.00 which you will never see again from me nor my friends or customers. Food was great sevice sucked.

Pros: Steak flautas, guacamole.

Cons: they like to cheat customers overcharging for drinks
