"Lips is a drag queen palace. Listen, they know how to dress.
My waitress, you should excuse the expression, was 6'4". A 46-double-D. The waist is 44 inches. The weight, 350. The introduction? "Hi, my name is All Beef Patty." She/he waited for the laugh, then, "I'm actually on Weight Watchers. Soon I'll be Patty Melt."
Sultana, the Queen of the Middle East Village, was wearing a spaghetti-strap, beaded, low-cut sheath. I was in tailored plain black pants. There was something wrong with this picture.
All Beef Patty handed me a menu. It was nice. Roasted beet salad, crab cakes, grilled chicken, shrimp, salmon.
Lips was jammed. Open 10 years with branches in San Diego & Fort Lauderdale, it's the Starbucks of drag queens. People read about the place in tourist brochures because it's obviously a staple of NY." - excerpts from Cindy Adams' 1/17/07 NY Post article

BROADWAY BRUNCH IS 5 STAR. Went to Sunday Broadway Brunch last weekend and OMG it was the best. Ginger Snapt did all the best from Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors and even defied gravity in Wicked! All of Broadways greatest hits plus bunch with unlimited mimosas and bloody marys for $20. The food was your average brunch fare of eggs, pancakes, eggs benedict, etc. I had the smoked salmon plate which was great! The drinks flowed freely all afternoon. The new Lips is a a great space but as I found out reserve early as brunch sells out two weeks in advance. Bravo Ladies of Lips- You are the new queens of Broadway!…
NEW YORK'S HIDDEN RHINESTONE!. Went to Lips to celebrate with a group of friends last Saturday and it was over the top! Unlike other places where the queens dance in the aisles, Lips is a true Drag Showpalace with a full stage and a real show! Ariel Sinclair rocks! We saw the glitz and glamour show and the Laides of Lips pulled out all the stops. Our waiter??/?? waitress the Lovely All Beef Patty took care of us and kept the cocktails flowing. The frozen cosmo's are super strong. The place also has a full menu and the filet mignon was tender and tasty. Be prepared as this place is packed on the weekends. This was a perfect start to a night on the town.…
Completely Sucked. Was sorely disappointed with LIPS despite advertisements claiming the place as fun. Attended on a Saturday (2.25.12) for a birthday celebration with friends expecting a great time and was floored with the overall experience---terrible! The place is suitable for a recent transplant to the City or a Midwestern tourist with plaid shorts and colored socks worn with sandals at a hefty price. Please save your money. You’ll be better off going to Lucky Cheng’s in the E. Village for a more City-adult-cooler vibe. The show was ok, at best. Food completely sucked; we didn’t finish the dishes. Drinks average. Overall vibe was very Time-Squarish with a twist of a sweet sixteen bash.…
this place is so fun. i went for my birthday and i loved the place i had a great time ... they made me get on the floor and everything .. i have great memories
THE BEST DRAG SHOW IN THE USA!.
A friend brought me to Lips last night and I thought, OK this might be ok, but it wasnt just ok, IT WAS FABBBBULOUS!
The hostess Ariel Sinclair was so funny I never stopped laughing all night long. The show included lip syncing, live singing, Cher, Madonna and the hostess having her way with the audience. The place was packed with ervething from bacheloettes, to queens, to old society folk from the Upper East Side. I heard Lips moved to this new show palace recently and it is spectacular, as the host said its like "Beatlejuice designed Ken and Barbies dream house on acid". Huge chandeliers, jewels, fake pink leapord skin fur wall paper and about a million pounds of glitter.
The food was good to. I had the filet mignon which was thick and juicy and for dessert we had a foot high piece of delicious red velvet cake.
I reccomend LIPS to everyone. It is a night out you will never forget! Bravo Ladies. Thanks!…
