Poor service
by Anonymous8118
We chose this place for lunch because it was on a sunny corner of the street. The waitress then seated us in the dark back room, and we asked for a different table because it was an uncomfortable spot and the entire dining room was empty.
Next, they were out of the item I ordered. So I ordered my second choice item, which the meat was so rubbery I had to spit it out into my napkin because I couldn't even chew it.
The waitress was mostly non-existent, did not know which drink (of two drinks when I was her only table) was mine or which food item was mine when bringing the order, did not ask us if we wanted a refill, did not bring the one extra item we asked for and we had to ask again, and was in general extremely slow. I normally leave a 18% tip for decent service, but the service was so bad I would have left them less, except then they added 18% on to the check, giving themselves a tip for only a two person table. I understand if you want to add 18% for large parties, but the waitress did not earn or deserve an 18% tip in this case. I will never go back to this place.
- Pros: Inexpensive drinks
- Cons: Poor service
Diner Spaghetti is better
by imas98
We tried Cucina because it looked nice from the outside & the menu was pretty cheap. It turned out to be a nice place w/piano music playing while you dine but the food was just not good. Nothing was particularly warm except the white wine !?!?! Fried Calamari was rubbery & doughy plus the sauce on the side tasted like jar sauce. I always order Calamari & this was the worst I've ever tasted. For my entree I ordered Eggplant Parm...this was pretty good but the spaghetti on the side came w/more jar sauce. Our waiter hardly said a word to us & then disappeared altogether. For dessert the Tiramisu was good but had alot of coolwhip on top...covering up what I wonder ? My friend ordered the Cappucino & said it was "horrible". Overall it was cheap but I'd rather have paid a few bucks more for a good meal.
- Pros: cheap food, music & location
- Cons: food & wait staff

I have had several good experiences here. The food is better than your average pasta house and the prices are more than reasonable. Its a cute place in a great location and is open late.
