ATROCIOUS and MEAN SERVICE!!!! READ!. Waiter stated to my date "are you going to have me go over every special", then smirked when she did not want a cocktail. All of this followed by the waiter saying the moment he placed my change down "since you are done we have people waiting". First time this has EVER happened and to boot the food was average at best... STAY AWAY!!! Also, although I was ready to leave as change was placed down I decided to then sip the remainder of my wine as the glass was still half FULL when he said it! Still in shock!

Great Italian Fare Outdoors. I enjoyed my lunch at Bar Pitti, which was not, like other reviews have said, rushed or made uncomfortable by pushy waiters. The waitress serving our table was a gem, who patiently explained all of the dishes and made great recommendations. I like that they have a small permanent menu and then a much more expansive daily specials menu. We ate a bunch of appetizers (highlight: oyster mushrooms, earthy, hearty and rich), and shared some entrees (highlight: veal, pounded super thin and served with lemon and arugula), and had desserts (highlight: my favorite panna cotta ever, so smooth, rich, decadent and the perfect texture), and coffees. The place is cash only, so we felt a little weird paying in a giant stack of 20s, but it is what it is. I really liked this place and hope to come back soon.

Terrible!. Not worth the headache. The food was so so, the service was TERRIBLE. It's honestly a place that you would go to if you didn't know any better. Save yourself the trouble, spend a little more money and go to a place that doesn't rush you out and tell you you're not allowed to order an appetizer while you wait for your party to arrive. They treat their customers like sh*t. It's about as authentic as Olive Garden. NEVER AGAIN!

Horrible Service and Food not memorable.. Attempted to dine here on a beautiful Friday evening. Bad idea. Been here before years ago and gave it another shot since my date suggested it tonight. (The food I had last was not memorable) I would not go back again since while I walked into the door to find a host, 2 rude male servers deliberately pushed me coming from Literally, pushed against my back. So I rushed out. This place was chaotic. A bunch of people milling around on the sidewalk waiting to be seated. Definitely not worth it. We just left and went to 10 Downing across the street. Delicious food, excellent attentive service for a beautiful night on the sidewalk. Bar Pitti is definitely over-rated.

Great Italian food for a reasonable price point. If you have claustrophobia or suffer from anxiety, this place is not for you. The space is small, the line is typically out the door and the staff is uh, brusque to say the least.

With that said, this is some of the best pasta you will find in NYC. My personal favorites are the Linguine a la Vongole and the Rigatoni Pitti but everything on the menu is fresh and delicious. Great place to bring out of town guests without breaking the bank. Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards.

They rush you. if you are not jay z or some cheezy model. The owner thinks he is "cosa nostra" untouchable gangster type. They will rush you out and take wine out of your hand. Food is overrated but the ambiance is nice if you like the owner starng you down to order.. Waitress and waiters stink. owner is crass and and forgets what it is like to struggle. horrendous experience but they do not care because it will always be packed. I saw a vermon run under my feet as I ate a meatball.

Move em in, move em out. Hadn't been in a while, thought I'd go back. Wish I hadn't. The food was kinda ok, the meal was very rushed and not long after paying our bill, the waiter grabbed his 20% tip and asked "everything ok over here guys?" I responded, "yes, thank you" to which he said (with attitude) "people are waiting." There were 4 people waiting and the restaurant was not packed. As we walked out, I told the owner "we were 2 sips away from done, I didn't need to be told to leave" and he mocked me for the beneift of the people waiting for our table. So, if you want to drop over $100 (cash only) and not be allowed to finish your wine, jump in!

A bar without Pitti. The outdoor cafe was a nice amenity. The wait staff are a bit harried, and the maitre'd was unhelpful about how long the wait would be, since they do not take reservations.

But their 'peasant' dishes were delicious, a lot better than most 'red sauce' restaurants.

Offensive Service, Decent food, Nice outdoor seating. I have been to this restaurant before as a college student and again several years ago and never had a complaint, but my husband and I went this past weekend and I was unpleasantly surprised. I have never written a review like this before, but I was sufficiently offended by the poor service and the staff's utter lack of interest in the comfort of their clients that I felt obligated to write something! First we had to ask to be seated by catching a waiter flying by us while standing in the walkway, then we had to wait 15 min before we were able to catch our waitress for the menus and some beverages. We had to request the specials since they were not offered to us and once we were ready to order we had to flag down another waiter. No refills on water unless prompted and to that the waiter seemed annoyed. No one asked how we were doing at all. We, of course, had to ask for the check. And to top it off, they take cash only and, yes it is mentioned on the menu, but it would also be nice if someone reminds you when you are seated. Food was good and I am Italian so i am a harsh critic of a red sauce. Prices are very reasonable for the city. Overall, very unsatisfied.
