“Nice atmosphere.”
“Everyone should go to Henrietta's, just 'cause it's the best lesbian bar in town.”
“love this bar even though you cant hear yourself talk but hey if its women you want to meet and have a good time as well then this is the place.”
“We thought it was advertised as a friendly atmosphere!”
Henrietta Hudson is the longest running lesbian bar in the country and we are alive & well in NYC!!! We are open 365 days a year!!! WE are alive & kickin!!!
Not worth it. The place is ok on Saturdays but the staff is extremely rude... I would go there more often if I was treated better (I am a CUSTOMER - why would I get treated differently?)... I guess the owner or Manager are too busy to train the staff... What a shame!!!
Isles of Lesbians?????????. Oh please Henrietta is so boring, the music sucks. The only thing new about this place is that the pool table isn't there any more.Henrietta only became known after "Crazy Nannies" closed. This person who think this place is the isle of lesbians, perhaps a newbie and never being to this club before.Yeah isles of rude staff members.water down drinks.dirty bath rooms,no coats hangers.Henrietta is no place i would suggest.Non New Yorker perhaps would find it quite cool because they have no ides.Real New Yorkers knows the deal.
$10 to be harassed by rude staff?.
After being greeted by the SO OBNOXIOUS AND RUDE "Bouncers". (I think the title does more justice, than there not so intimidating faces) You must pay $10 to enter this dump. Sooooo not worth it. So I have taken matters in my own hands... Get the word out and join in boycotting hen's. They MUST make changes.

not really worth it. $10 cover for an empty juke box bar, not worth it in my opinion. I'd rather go someplace friendly than pay to have the staff be rude to me...
Isle of Lesb0s. Pretty cool place. Reasonably priced drinks. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Oh and some pretty cute chicks.
discrimination. I went there 3/01/08 with six women and five men. We were of mixed sexual preference (gay, bisexual and strait men and women). The men were not allowed to enter because we weren't on the "guest list"!! Henrietta's is not a private club, so why the "guest list"? We thought it was advertised as a friendly atmosphere! I was suprised to see that there is still such discrimination! And by the gay community! We are supposed to be above that, having experienced it so much. As we walked away another group of men made the remark that all gay women hate men...I don't believe that...only Henrietta Hudson's does!
Best Lesbian/Gay Bar.
Classic. If you haven't been to Henriettas - you really are missing out... It is the first lesbian/gay bar that I have been to in NYC and it truly was one of the best. The other places that I have been - have only been "party nights" at Straight Bars/Clubs ... at Henriettas you are bound to meet up with a hot lesbian or make a new friend to party with in the city. The place is quite small but thats what makes it so much fun. Hey, you can never lose who you came in with!! There are two pool tables in the second room, two full bars, and two bathrooms!!! There is one DJ who spins a variety of music that changes throughout the night... Thursdays are free and known for the hip hop and salsa ... the bartender DEE is wonderful and the bouncers are sooo sweet. Sometimes there are go-go dancers that perform on the mini-stage / pole (which is open to the regular public when they are not there [wink] ) There is a happy-hour and many people show up after work in their full-suits which is always a pleasure... check it out - you'll def have a terrific time
*** spring and summer are the best because of the outside area ***
Girl Crazy.
It was in fact the first 'gay' bar in NYC that i went to -- as well as the first 'lesbian' bar i've ever been to. Possibly the best time to go is during pride -- so many different faces...
packed.
The West Village bar of choice for a wide array of gay women.. A casual, welcoming hangout complete with videos and jukebox. It gets pretty packed most nights, so don't expect to get anywhere near the pool table unless you arrive extra early. Bands and DJs play Wednesdays through Sundays, and charming bartenders serve up quality, no-frills drinks. The separate dancing, pool-playing and lounging areas give everyone space, and the constant flow between them creates an inviting, something-for-everyone vibe.
