“While the long wait for a table can be a pain, the burgers are the best--plain and simple.”

Easily one of the best burgers in New York, just don't order water! They frown on that. Beer or bust!

Dirt-cheap for the West Village, Corner Bistro dishes out extremely devourable and lovable hunks of meat with bacon, lettuce and tomato, beers, fries and cokes. Open until 4 a.m.
This place is no BS burgers and fries. The burger is consistently great but there are better ones to be had in this hood. Expect a wait and nothing more than a bar scene. That being said, a bar scene may be what you're looking for.
WORST BARTENDING STAFF IN NYC. To celebrate a birthday, I asked my friends to meet me at this place. As I waited for my friends the bartender passed by me three to 4 times without even asking me what I would like to drink. Once I did get his attention he berated me for bothering him. sorry bartender but that is your JOB! I told my friends to meet me at the bar across the street, and guess what, THE BARTNEDER CAME UP TO ME RIGHT AWAY!!!! DO NOT GO HERE... it is full of 25 year old boys and no females....
Overrated.
My friend and I are on a quest for the best burger. We decided one stop should be the Corner Bistro in the western village. Written up many time as the best burger in NYC.
Inside, the place was crowded (on a Wednesday night) but with a friendly environment, with multiple lines leading to the bar, restroom(s), and to be seated. It took roughly 20 minutes to get a table, but the waiter was extremely helpful and kept us updated the entire time.
We ordered fires and on first bit we realized we were eating BACON (FRIES)! Yes, bacon. With bacon being a staple on many of their burgers, we can only guess that they add the leftover bacon grease to their fryer turning their standard thin cut frozen fries into something fantastic. A few minutes later, our
You've heard of the soup nazi?.
I used to like the Corner Bistro until the night I brought a friend there after telling him about the burger (waited on line etc.), and they sat us next to a large garbage pail with flies buzzing around it.
When I asked the waiter for another table he turned to me and snapped, "if you don't like it, you can leave". He knew we waited an hour to get in. I went to the manager, only to be told he didn't want to get involved and it was between me and the waiter. So we left.
Never been back since.
DUDE I CAN TASTE THAT BURGER IN MY MOUTH NOW. JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU MY NAME IS CARVED ON ALL THE TABLES WAS NICE LIVING AROUND THE CORNER GETTING CHEESEBURGERS GRILLED CHEESE W/ BACON AND CHILI AT 4 AM WAS FANTASTIC AND OF COURSE A MCSORLEYS BEFORE YOU WENT HOME
It is the best of the bests.
The meat is tender and made perfect as ordered, the price is very honest and the envirement is great!
I never miss it when i'am in New York!
Solid burgers but annoyingly overcrowded. I cannot understand the incredible popularity of this place. Is it a good dive bar with good burgers? Absolutely, but none of its merits justify waiting more than an hour for a table on a weekday night or having to put up with massive overcrowding after you sit down.
hot bartender and crispy bacon on the burger. the bistro has a warm atmosphere with killer music. the bartender is as fine as they possibly come, not to mention painfully funny and smart. but let's get down to it: the bistro burger is sinfully satisfying, thanks for the perfectly crispy bacon.
I love the joint. I've been coming to the Bistro for years. Yeah, cheap beer. Yeah, good burgers. Sure, great. But it's the ambiance about the joint that makes this place one of my favorite bars in the world. ("’World’? Really?” Yep.) The incredible juke box pumping out the earnestness of Wilco, the angry whine of Neil Young, the cool of Louis Armstrong. And the bartender, Jeff, is about as close to “the perfect New York bartender” that you can get – fast with the pour and witty as hell. A great hang. (Yes, “in the world.” Shut up.)
