Alex is the Best Haircutter/ Colorist in the West Village. If you've lived in the West Village for a while, you most likely go to Hair Hoppers for your haircuts and color and all the rest. Alex, the owner for over 22 years is so good at what he does, be it color, high-lights, lo-lights, a mixture, complex or simple, men's hair, my long hair, well it's a pleasure, to not only get your hair done but to watch him transform other clients, if that's their wish. Me, I get the same cut and color every four weeks. He does rock stars, psychiatrists, actors, lawyers, students, grandmas and models and he listens and give us all what we want. He also knows everything about New York and the VIllage and he's a sports fanatic. Alex loves his work and I think that's the big secret here. His prices are mid range, not cheap not high. He does my whole family now. We wouldn't go anywhere else,
Not just a pretty face!. Found Hair Hoppers and Kevin. Gives a great cut and natural looking color (highlights). He actually understands what I want when I don't know the lingo. Very quick with his work. He has me in and out and looking FABOO! I even sent my husband and brother to him and they won't see anyone else now.
Excellent Color and Cut.
Right at the #1 Christopher Street station is this boite of a salon. Open, Professional and friendly, with an inch of wasted space.
Ask for Kevin Coyne, a good listener and gently humorous and a highlights expert. I have followed him through the Village, from Mingus to SoHo Salon to Great Jones Spa to here. He just gets better.
Village secret: He does awesome kid's hair--he has done my daughter for 8 years.
Perfect Haircut. In short, Alex knows how to cut hair and he does it well. He also has the most incredible memory for people and details. It is a pleasure to sit in his chair in such a comfortable, low-key neighborhood location.
The Best Place for Hair. Alex, the owner and main energizer, sets the tone , both color and ambience, always thoroughly entertaining. I walk out a new person, happy and with a sexy new do.Been a customer for over 12 years and altho at times I have strayed, I always come back for more.
GREAT WORK, NO ATTUDE. I found Kevin Coyne formerly of Great Jones Spa in this quaint neighborhood salon in the west village. As usual his color work and cuts outdo any " trendy upscale" stylist. Alex his coworker is a great guy and they seem to go out of their way to accommodate. Can't miss!!!
Cut for the Office and the Club. Hairhoppers can get crazy, with pleased patrons loudly sharing their thoughts and admiration of the work done, but the experience is exciting and worthwhile. After a short wait, it was my turn in the chair, and Roman cut my hair just right as he stated it was groomed, "For the Office or the Club on the weekend". After paying, a great price for the cut by the way, I immediately called my girlfriend to recommend the place. Maybe I'll have to work off referral commision!
Best haircut ever!!!. I came to new York from Chicago and it took me a year to find this gem in the West Village. Even though is a small place is always packed, Good Sign!!!. Not only did I get the best haircut, but the prices were phenomenal and the customer service could not have been better.
