Lissette Abreu the Specialist in Hair Color & hair cuts

I was in need of someone to cut and color my hair as my regular hairdresser moved back to her home town and by luck, while walking through the village, I came across Avalon Salon and they recommended Lissette Abreu - they said she is the best in what she does. Hair coloring is surely her specialty. Well, they weren't lying! My hair looks FABULOUS, and I left Avalon extremely happy and from that day on (! year later) I'm still going to her. I recommend her to anyone.

I recently moved to the city and was in search of a reputable salon to get my Brazilian wax. A long time subscriber to Allure magazine, I discovered Avalon through one of their raving reviews. I went online, saw more great reviews and decided to check it out.

The wax took no time at all and was virtually painless. The techician told me to apply neosporin to a few "sensitive" areas around my labia and sent me on my way, minus $65.00. The REAL pain began a few hours later. By the time I got home, I could barely move. My boyfriend examined the sensitive areas and realized that my skin was actually ripped off.. OUCH!!! I had bumps for about six days and major irritation. I had to use a lot of Gold Bond powder just to walk around. The majority of my hair had grown back within two weeks. I've never experienced such fast regrowth before. Needless to say, I'm in desperate search of another salon and will not be returning to Avalon.

Amazing Blowout by Anthony!

I owe big thanks to Anthony at Avalon for giving me what might just have been the best blowout of my life on Saturday afternoon. While I’ve been visiting Avalon for 8+ years for regular cuts and have always been happy, I booked a semi last-minute appointment for a blowout prior to a Saturday night event. My regular stylist doesn’t work Saturdays, so I let the salon suggest whoever they thought might do well with my long, thick hair. Anthony surpassed all expectations, and the final product was sleek but had body and the perfect curl at the base all at the same time. Most amazing? It’s Monday afternoon, I’ve slept on this blowout 2 nights now, and my hair still looks PERFECT. This is my first online review, but I was so happy with my hair and received SO many compliments, that I couldn’t resist sharing my positive experience. Thank you, Anthony!

Wonderful Village Salon

I have been coming to Avalon Salon, specifically Ricky, for hair cut and color for years. It's a lovely, clean and professional establishment. Everyone from the receptionists to the hair washers are friendly and personable, there is no pretension or elitist behavior.

The prices for all services and products are reasonable and well worth the experience.

I have only had hair cuts/color at the salon, but I have seen Ricky specifically for years. Not only is he friendly and easy to talk to, but he always gives me a great cut and I feel like a million bucks every time. He's very familiar with how I like to cut/style my hair. He never pushes me to try something crazy, but if he has an opinion about what should be done, he gives it, and I always take it and never regret it.

Even if I go months without getting a cut, Ricky always greets me with a smile and knows what I need to get cleaned up. I'll be a loyal customer of this establishment for years to come.
