I could not be more in love with Carly!!

I had been walking around for 3 weeks totally bummed out by last cut/color, but had resisted getting it redone elsewhere because I just haven't had the time/money. A meeting cancelled on me last minute and I was wandering around the West Village, saw Carly in the window and went in on a whim . . . the rest is history. Best highlights of my life. Finally I have the hair color I have always wanted. And a great cut, she totally gets it. It's like most hair stylists in new york are robots or something! Carly's not. I love her. Seagull is a cute place, a little nutty, how I imagine "the village" back in the day. But they obviously know what they are doing.

Kate is great!

I've been to Seagull on several occasions and each visit has been great. Kate is fantastic at cutting hair but also a genuis at coloring. I can be really picky about things and every time i asked for an adjustment (like cutting the bangs shorter after it was done), Kate smiled and said absolutely.

Surprisingly, in the 10 years I have lived in NYC, I have found it surprisingly difficult to get a good haircut. Finally, I have found the solution - Kate at Seagull!

We got fired

We were some of Seagulls first clients. My husband missed ONE appointment and apologized. For his next appointment, they screwed up and he said not to worry about it. I tried to make a third appointment and Johanna said that he would have to pay in advance because of his bad "track record" with getting to his appointments on time. I've never been treated so badly especially while I was a loyal customer.

  • Pros: Luke cuts hair really well
  • Cons: Front desk can be hard to handle

Laura: Every gay man's dream stylist

‎I've been going to Laura for six months now, and I'm currently sporting the best haircut I've ever had. Not only is she a great technical stylist (she cut my hair the old-fashioned way, scissors-over-comb), she also happens to be the coolest chick to ever put on a pair of high-heel boots. I really love the laid-back atmosphere; there was an adorable French Bulldog lounging around on the couch just as happy as can be! I definitely recommend this place for any guy who wants a sharp-looking haircut and a pleasant experience.
