SASSY MEXICAN WAITERS, DUMB DOORMEN, AND THE RUDEST MANAGER. I have been to Rio Grande countless times and never experienced what I did last Friday. I took our summer interns there for food and drinks. It was beautiful out so of course we wanted a table outside and trust me there were plenty. We were a larger party ( 8 or so). It took the doorman almost 15 minutes to count how many people we had and figur eout where to seat us. There was an open table staring at us and i had to point it out several times. The girls at teh table next to useven volunteered to give us there table and they would move over one. When we sit down not one waiter comes over to us for a good 10 minutes. So... i decided to go inside to get my drink. One of our interns who is 21 goes to the inside bar where he proceeds to get hassled. Furthermore, a sassy mexican waiter comes to our tables and asks if we are ready to order. We say no bc we only have 4 menus and he hasn't even asked us for our drink order. He throws his hands in the air and darts off to the bouncer. The bouncer proceeds to get tells us that we must eat if e want to sit outside. I realized speaking with him would make me blue in teh face bc he is not the sharpest caryon in the box. I had to walk away bc he was soo supid. When I was inside the manager approached me. After me telling my story he asks me if i have ever eaten in NY before. He was soo rude to me, i heard another patrons say where is the customer service here. ... TRUST ME YOUR NOT MISSING OUT! It's overpriced and everyone there is really very unpleasant.

Lame Across The Board. Went here last night, still slightly hung over, pardon the gramaticals, etc. Anyways, a friend of mine was throwing a little shin-dig there and we arrived and were greeted by a pretty nice bouncer. The place was f-ing packed, i felt like I was at a concert, sans the music, and hipsters. A lot of people were there before taking the boat back to jersey (you know what I mean), some cute girls, mostly people in groups. The drinks were all served in plastic cups, after pleading with the bartender to give a me glass, he still wouldnt, damn. Beer bottles were served in the alluminum bottles (think yankee stadium). All in all, the plastic cups said it all... before I even got a drink, that this place was one big frat party.... w/o pong, flip cup, music, etc. The margaritas were pretty good, very strong, and the service was decent. I woulnd't come back voluntarily, but you never know. A good place to go with a group of dudes to try to pick up some cuties (maybe...).

Good for Margaritas. If you want a good margarita check this place out. They have outdoor seating (although I think you need to order food). Plenty of seating inside. I'm not a mexican food fan so I can't comment on the food. It's a spacious place, service is good.

Great Margaritas and The Best Steak Nachos in the World. I've been going to El Rio for about 4 years now and it never gets old. The margaritas are always on the money, strong but not overpowered by the taste of tequila. If you plan on going you have to get an order of their Steak Nachos. They use nice big pieces of steak and the nachos are done individually so it's not a big mound of stuff thrown together like some places. Never had a complaint of this place. Most recently went with a large group of about 14 people during the week and the service was great. For Margaritas i would recommend the Bloood Orange

Bad food, but STRONG drinks. The food is terrible, but if you stick to the bar and just have apps you'll be fine. The drinks are the strongest I've ever had, but they don't tase like a good margarita should. Be careful because more than 2 could get you into trouble! In the summer the outside space is great if you can stand the huge crowds and long waits at the bar, get there early to really enjoy the space.

Happy Hour Summer Place. This place is great on a nice Friday night for Happy hour. The Margaritas are fairly strong and tasty, so enjoy one while you are there.

Great for Happy Hour!. El Rio Grande is great for happy hour when the weather is nice... they have a nice patio area. The space inside is large as well, however the bar area can get cramped. Whether you hanging out on the "Texas" or "Mexico" side of the restaurant, they both have one thing in common... STRONG drinks. The margaritas are great! Food is decent as well. Overall this place is a good time.

Nine to fivers wind down the day with the help of this Tex-Mex spot's wildly flavored margaritas.. In Short
In the summer, hordes of after-work drinkers pack the patio of this Tex-Mex restaurant, which is housed on the second floor of an office building. In winter, tables are crammed into the two dining rooms, dubbed Texas and Mexico. Ceilings are high, and the floor is carpeted. The menu, aside from few surprises like swordfish, offers the usual taco, burrito and enchilada fare. A truly grande margarita selection includes offbeat flavors like wilderberry and pomegranate.

Big Margaritas & Good Food. The Mexican food here is good although I have had better. Food comes in huge portions so men, you will not be left hungry. Prices are decent. The high ceilings make for a nice dining space. The part that was most enjoyable? The warm tortilla chips, guacamole and spicy salsa you get at the beginning of the meal in place of bread. I've heard a lot of good things about the happy hour and Margaritas here but, have never actually had. During the summer it looks like a great area to have drinks outdoors.

Margaritas and steak nachos to kill for. Not only do they have a real dead buffalo hanging from the ceiling (what more could you really want after that?) but they have a slew of different margarita flavors and 2 sizes for the lethal drinks, which is great for the tequila-shy. If you go for drinks with work buddies, definitely DEFINITELY order a couple of steak nachos. The meat is tender, juicy and charbroiled. You won't regret it!
