Bad music, sketchy bartenders, great vibe.. I had walked past this bar before and instantly knew by the outside that it would be perfect for my friends (tacky camp decorations, plastic reindeer, christmas tree lights). After reading many positive reviews, we couldn't wait to try it for a birthday party. We were slightly disapointed that the rooms off of the bar had been reserved, but settled in with the relaxed crowd. We were also disapointed by the music- turns out there is a jukebox, so that was not the bars fault, but then the songs I chose never played. Ultimately, the bar had not lived up to my expectations, but I probably would have returned since I live around the corner. It was when I examined my credit-card charges from the weekend on Monday I realised that I have been over charged for the drinks I bought at Pinetree. I find this to be shady and unreliable and reason not to return to this bar that has potential to be a lot of fun.

Great, comfy neighborhood spot.. I wanted a laid-back local place to celebrate my birthday, and chose Pinetree. I was worried it would be too dive-y, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are some great little nooks with comfy seating and it had a nice, loungy atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly, made great SoCo and lime shots and even gave me a free drink for the occasion. The Pinetree Ale on draft was suprisingly good. It wasn't too crowded, and my group took up a lot of the bar, but that was a good thing. It's a bit tucked away near the entrance to the Midtown Tunnel, but I thought that added to it. Overall great place, and I'll be back!

Interesting place. This is an out of the way place in Murray Hill. The set up is funky with a small front bar a side room with couches to relax and then a back room. There are a couple of TV's although one is tilted on it's side as well as an internet jukebox, trivia and hunting games. They have very good happy hour specials (buy 1 get 1 free), however the prices are a little high $5 for domestic when it's not happy hour. A lot different most of the bars in the area or Manhattan for that matter, however the one negative is it's a little out of the way (between 1st and 2nd) on 35th so you'll have a decent walk to your next place

I thought it was cute!. Right near the East River--you can't miss it as it has pine trees outside by the front door and a Christmas/Catskill summer camp atmosphere inside. It is WAY casual to say the least with lots of kitschy clutter of Christmas decorations and canoe paddles etc. in three separate rooms. One room in the back has a beaded curtain mysterious entrance and had lots of laughing young-uns in it and one has a bed in it!--with more serious type folks having serious discussions. (I never saw the supposed outdoot patio when I was there.) The barmaid was funny, made great bloody marys and the bar had 6 (??) TV's over it tuned to different stations--whatever you liked! The funniest thing: one TV is tipped on an angle so you can still watch it when you can no longer hold your head up off the bar! That suits my sense of humor!

Outrageous prices for such a dive. I went into this place because they had an outdoor area and i figured that a place with a log cabin theme would be fun. I also thought that the prices would be low since they wouldn't be attracting upscale clientele into this dark musty smelling place. When we got there we were informed that the outdoor area was closed even though it is August. But the worst part was ordering two Red Bull and Ketel One Vodkas and having the bill come out to $26. I'd expect those prices at a trendy lounge but not here. We left after one drink and won't be back.

Murray Hill's kitschiest bar is a paean to the long-lost aesthetic of summer camp chic.. The Scene
You've never been to a theme bar until you've experienced the Camp Wigwam-meets-Catskills hunting lodge decor at this hilarious hideaway. Every inch of the space is adorned with inner tubes, lumberjack-plaid pillows, oars and other perfectly curated eBay finds from the great outdoors. And, yes, that's a real caribou head on the wall. Your bunkmates for the evening will be young, boisterous campers from around the neighborhood.

The Draw
Fair weather means the enormous back patio is open with the frozen drink machine in full effect. During the regular barbecue parties, patrons hang loose with a cold one in the garden's Adirondack chairs and hammocks. Inside there's an eclectic jukebox, affordable drinks, a solicitous staff and--the only mountain man mood-breaker--nine TVs showing all sports, all the time.

Great Place!!. My friend who lives around the corner took me to the Cabin Club and I have to say it is one of my favorites. The drinks are inexpensive and the atmosphere is laid back and fun. This is one of those places that you don't want to miss.

Perfect Escape From NYC. Cabin Club is a welcoming, relaxed, rarely-crowded hideout. I live in the neighborhood and am convinced that I'll be visiting often; I could want no other neighborhood bar. Definitely the place to go when you really want to get a few drinks and catch up with someone. The 2-for-1 happy hour is long (4-10) but the drinks are cheap enough anyway that it doesn't make *that* much of a difference.

Laid Back. This place is awesome. The drink special on wknites from 4-10 is sweet -- 2 for 1 drafts and well drinks. the draft selection is limited, but all in all it comes to about 2$ a beer...what a bargain. And the place has a lot of nooks for privacy (for cards, not hanky-panky! dirty minds!)

a great nook. amazingly cool place. where else can you eat cracker jacks while you drink?

in the summer the outdoor patio feels like a sweet backyard. in the winter, it feels like a ski lodge.
