“Wonderful atmosphere, great food, impeccable service”
“The appetizer is over-cooked-burned shrimp, the spaghetti taste like out of a can, and the only dish tasted OK is desert.”
“Nice selection of wines, friendly staff, impeccably dressed.”
“was there on a Wednesday (not so busy) and the service was sloooooooow, the food mediocre (too salty), and the wine list unimpressive.”
“The wine selection as well as the service were very good.”
“Good but not great restaurant”
“The food the service outstanding.”
“This place is overpriced and the staff is flat out RUDE.”
“Crowded, noisy, very very slow service.”
I celebrated my bday there and it was the best bday party I ever had. They gave me a complimentary bottle of vodka for me and my girlfriends after dinner. Food was really tasty, and portions were generous. I would repeat for sure!!!
Horrible place to go to. I spent new years here with my wife. I had made a reservation for my wife and myself only but yet instead of being charged for two plates at 160 each I was charged $1600.00 and till this day I am having trouble getting my money back. they claim that i have to wait for them to collect the money from another couple in my table so that i can get my money back. A couple whom my wife and i have no connection. Because they failed to charge them adequately i ended up paying 10 x more than what i was suppose to pay and the managers Mateo and Amir go back and forth as to this issue. I don't recommend this place whatsoever, the food was horrible on top of that and they wouldn't serve shots if i already had a drink on my table. This place is horrible. if you don't want to get robbed and served bad food don't go here.
Such a lovely restaurant.
Such a lovely restaurant
I was so surprised and pleased today! My pick of a lunch venue in a part of town that is less than exciting was a big hit! Room was lovely - not noisy - service was attentive and food excellent.I recommend it highly!
With compliments.
I heard somewhere that it was good manners to give a compliment for every criticism. So here we go:
1.a Nice ambiance
1.b We had made reservations based on the web-published Restaurant Week Menu. We had to request it, were told " it's not Restaurant Week, it's Prix Fixe.". When we were given completely different menu than the web menu: "oh yes that is from last year, we really need to change that"
2.a. Restaurant is flexible with substitutions
2.b. They were out of the pasta I wanted, I was offered a different shape pasta (fine by me) with the recipe intact, then was told 15 minutes later that they were out of the main ingredient in the recipe, and would I like to substitute shrimp for sea urchin? UH, yeah, they taste EXACTLY the same, except for flavor, texture, odor... Other than that, exactly.
3.a. In the summer, a cooling spritz is refreshing
3.b. An entire glass of water was spilled in my partner's lap by a staff member
4.a. Wild boar (cinghiale) lasagna was very tasty
4.b. Swordfish pasta needed salt, or olives, capers, or lemon zest.... Flavor?
5.a Clean bathrooms are important
5.b. The marble floor was nice and slippery after the man mopped it... In the middle of dinner service!?!?!?.....and in his zealousness with the mop the toilet seats were also nice and wet, and in that kind of a restaurant, I don't really need to see the can of Glade on the toilet paper dispenser.
6.a. They gave us a 10% discount on the bill for the experience of wet lap dining, and free espresso.
6.b. They charged me for the original dish I ordered and that they were out of, instead of the one I ended up eating (which was $2 less actually).
7.a. $25 for a glass of wine!!? Bravo!
7.b. $25 for a GLASS of wine!!!!?!?!?
pasta pasta pasta. what can I say im a sucker for good pasta!!! braised beef ravioli, tortoloni filled with ricotta, wild boar lasagna the best ive ever had....... pappardella, tagliatelle...... I can go on and on u get the picture!!!!!!!
Best brunch in midtown. I have recently went to Salute for dinner about a month ago and loved my entire meal from their fresh pasta and orata special. I heard about their brunch menu and had to try it. I came back and tried the eggs benedict. OMGG!! What a classic. Their poached eggs were to die for and the fresh fruit had to be sliced moments before it arrived on my plate. And to top it off a complimentary glass of Prosecco.
SOOO YUM. The mushroom and spinach pizza is the tastiest thing ever. I also had the minestrone soup which was also amazing. I can't wait to go back! It was so chic inside too! YUMMM
Don't go here for brunch!. We were invited here by native New Yorkers who admitted that they had never been here for weekend brunch. When we arrived, the place was completely empty. The servers were milling about with nothing to do and a very vacant-eyed hostess did most of the waiting on us. She was extremely uncharismatic, unfriendly and unknowledgable. It seemed as though everything was a pain and that she literally had no empowerment to do anything. She didn't even know how to make a substitution and charge for it. Frankly, the menu was an odd mix of items, most of which were not even remotely Italian and most shocking of all, the bread was inedible! $100 for some eggs, a pizza and a bottle of San Pelligrino and bad service is really inexcusable, especially in these difficult economic times. Oh, and the decor was simply 80's in its garrishness.
one of my favorite.... One of my favorite restaurants in the city. While it's pricey, it's one of those restaurants I like to go to for special occasions.
avoid. my family and i just came from salute 8/30/08.. i could not believe that the veggi lasgna came out cold and with no flavor.. there was no bold taste or flavor..i when i told them the dish was cold they simply took it away and reheated the same dish.. they offered a very passive apology and no explanation. i was very upset that this high end, over priced resturant had a below average dishes..
