nice outdoor seating – christina's is excellent, i work nearby and i go here when i feel like splurging for lunch. other places in the area have lunch specials and this place does not, but its much more upscale than other places in this area. when the weathers nice they put tables out on the plaza which is great because its not right on the street and the traffic doesnt interfere with your dining experiences as it does at other sidewalk cafes, service is adequate. try the brick oven pizza its delicious!
Great Neighborhood Restaurant – My friend and I came to Christina's primarily to use the restroom and left feeling as though we were a part of a family. Staff was welcoming, service was great, and the food was delicious. These two Jersey girls will definately be back to this comfortable yet tastefully decorated establishment (especially to visit with our new friend Serini - ahh Jezzzz!).
Basic Tasty Italian Food – This is a great place for pasta, veal and seafood dishes. The portions are generous, and the food tastes like your Italian grandmother from Jersey made it. Nothing complicated, just tasty. They have an exceptionally priced wine list as well. A great place for before or after a movie at Kip's Bay Theater. A large outdoor dining patio in front. Bring Fido along too!
Wonderful Surprise.. – My girlfriend and I found Christina's by accident after trying to find a restaurant in the area that had closed down. The unassuming outside of Christina's hides it's wonderful decor. The food was wonderful and the staff took great care to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We weren't rushed to leave as we sat to exchange christmas presents. The prices were right on for the food, worth every dime. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic meal, or for any dinner occasion.
Nice place for an after movie dinner – My girlfriend and I decided to check out this restaurant after catching a movie at Kip's Bay. The place had a nice laid back feel and there was also seating outside. We arrived at around 9:30pm so we didn't have to wait for a table. I had the rigatoni escarole which is a pasta dish with sausage, spinach olive oil and garlic and she had the tortellini ala nonna? which is a tortellini dish with a tomato cream sauce with peas and ham. Both were tasty and very good. The wait staff were courteous though they did forget to bring a cup of tea that my gf ordered. Pricewise, it wasn't too expensive. Bill with tip was only in the $30 range. I would definitely go again.
Very Good – Had dinner there yesterday. Very good Italian Food and not expensive. Nice outdoor dining.
Excellent – This place has turned into one of my favorite places whenever I'm on the east side and go to the movies at Loews Kips Bay. The food is delicious and its not very expensive.
Nice Place to Relax – ... and sit outside, sipping on a drink. The front patio is huge, and located far off the street, and with bushes essentially isolating you from the pedestrians and traffic. Aside from that, the service is adequate (visible, and will help you if you ask, but lack initiative), and the food, well, could be a lot worse.
