I give this place five stars for its decor and food. BUT, and this really ruined my experience, the server wrote in about a 25% suggested tip to my bill, taking my total bill for 2 crepes and 2 cappucinos above $30. The food and service were good, but a TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT tip?? I felt like I had been cheated by one of those waiters at tourist traps in Europe. Not wanting the server to potentially do gross things with my food the next time (if there is a next time!), I just paid up, but this left a really bad taste in my mouth. So maybe it really was authentically European.

If you want a quiet place with amazing food and high quality tea and coffee Keko is amazing. Of the many cafes in NYC this is one of the best. Everything is made in house and the tea time is delicious. And the homemade cous cous is out of this world!!! Everyone should spend at least one afternoon at Keko
