Fabulous Selection, Cheerful & Approachable Staff

by LMKINGSHOP at Citysearch

I first found this store in the summer of 2007 while in NYC for work. I travel all over the country & make a point of visiting yarn shops in every city I visit or work in. This is a small shop as far as sq. ft. They squeeze a lovely & diverse selection in without it feeling overly cramped. It feels cozy. The variety of both colors & fiber types is significant. This is the best set of "sale" bins I've seen. I say this because there is always a variety of colors & fibers for sale. I'm in NYC for a year or so & am so glad this store is close. The staff are cheerful, pleasant & strike just the right balance between giving a customer space & being available to answer questions. They are equally welcoming to veteran & novice knitters. I know this because I'm usually in the store for over an hour contemplating the selection, so I see their interaction with a variety of people. I've seen quite a variety of people in the store from theatre folk to Park Ave ladies to students. I like the diversity & warmth of the clientele. I recommend this store to both the novice & the veteran as worth the trip.. several trips.

  • Pros: Variety of fibers/colors, Welcoming Staff
  • Cons: no room for a mid-size table to congregate around

Good Yarn Store with Great Service

by BettyanneSue at Citysearch

The selection of yarn is not a large as you would get elsewhere in larger stores but there are some more funky yarns that you might not get elsewhere. The prices are about the same as anywhere else in NYC but the service here was great. The ladies are very helpful and eager to talk about patterns and yarn and knitting. Highly recommended.

Welcoming arms for experienced and novice Knitters.

by msknitalot at Citysearch

I love this place!! I always used to be intimidated when I passed by the store since I was not an experienced knitter. Now over some years I have built the confidence to enter the store. Beautiful yarns, customer service is great!! The two wonderful women working there Jane and Andrea are very helpful and inviting. They are ready to answer any questions and encourage you to bring your project with questions. Great place for beginners! Did I already say I love this place?! :)

  • Pros: Fabulous customer service, Very knowledgeable and inviting.
  • Cons: Small store need more space
