Long term client
by gardengirl08 at Citysearch
I have been a client since 1996. I visit from out of state traveling 5+ hours one way. Lemetric is more than worth it to me. I find Illine the owner very compassionate and helpful. Her staff has always been upbeat, kind, and sympathetic to me and when I leave I feel so much better about myself and this condition. I have done alot of research and there was no other salon that could offer me as good a solution for this problem. I have and continue to highly recommend this salon.
works for me
by GretaSt at Citysearch
I've been going to lemetric for a little over 2 years now, and I have to say, of all the things I've tried since I started noticing my hair thinning at 35, this works for me! Its nice to have something thats made to match my existing hair (since i still have lots of hair in the back) and I feel like I can go about my business without worrying myself sick about how my hair looks now.
great staff

Im a frequent and satisfied client of Elline's and i was shocked when I read the previous review. I've known Elline for years and she wouldnt want to rip off anyone. Isn't the point of a deposit to commit to a service without backing out, so that the people creating the hair piece upfront can get paid? If she gave that back, what would be the point in asking anyone for it in the first place!? She's in this business because she genuinely cares. If anyone knows hardship, it's Elline.
Do not do business w/ these people
by a82407 at Citysearch
I am formally contacting the appopriate bureau but I strongly warn you against doing business w/ these people. I had called for an initial consultation. I was told that the owner was coming to Philly and would meet me to do an initial consult. A few days later she called me and said that wouldn't work, but if I came to NY, she would do the consult and the piece for me all in the same day. So I agreed to that. They asked me for an initial deposit of $1200. So I paid that. Several days before my appt. my husband was in a car accident and was badly hurt. Hurt enough to be out of work for 10-12 weeks. So the $$ I was going to spend on this, now needs to be spent on paying the mortgage, my daughters daycare, etc. So I figured they would keep some of the deposit since some work had been done. Well Marvin, who I think is the owner's husband, calls me and says you won't get any of the deposit back and you still owe us the rest. He tries to paint it that I made it a rush order and that the hair piece was custom made for me. Well how could it be custom made when they haven't seen me in person. They saw a couple pictures- that was it. And if it was so custom made, why would I have to spend a whole day there- while they customized it for me?? So long and short of it, they are trying to make over $3000 from me and I'm sure will be able to use this hair on someone else. He offered that they would hold onto this for me- first for 60 days, then 90 days, then until the end of the year. Interesting- how there is no real time frame. And if it is truly just for me, I guess they'll just throw it away after that time??? Yeah right. Obviously going to NY right now is not an option. My husband is hurt and not able to work and I have an 8 mth old daughter. Just wanted to let you know up front, that with these people you better make sure you don't have any life issues that get in the way- they will keep your money and then charge you more!!!
A response to the previous post...

Hi. I'm Elline Surianello, the owner of LeMetric. I apologize to Jamor for not addressing her sooner, but her October 2007 review was only just brought to my attention.
I would like to respond by saying the following: I understand that certain women may prefer other salons over mine, which is ok, but I think it makes sense to compare apples to apples. For example, do they make their hair pieces entirely in house? Most of them don't. Do they make customized pieces, strand by strand? Most of them don't. Do they use all natural human hair? Most of them don?t. Are their owners also alopecia (hair loss) sufferers themselves? I doubt it.
I also take it personally when someone buys one of my products but doesn't bother to bring it to MY attention when she's not 100% satisfied. If you had come to me after you received your hair piece, I could have addressed the problem. If you have a complaint, come to me directly rather than posting a rant about it here, as a faceless victim.
Bottom line is, we tackle all problems at LeMetric, and we cater to every one's needs and concerns. If you were not satisfied, you should have come to me about it. Because I?ve been coping with this personally my whole life, and professionally for 20 years, I tend to be very straightforward and upfront with my clientele, but my intention is to help those in need. So please, feel free to call me if there?s a situation that still needs fixing.
