Don't expect to see the doctor you had an appointment with.. What a change...so disapointing. For years I used to see one of Stahl's doctors on Long Island. I loved going there, he was always so polite and a true master of his profession. Naturally I tried to continue to see him in Manhattan as I work there now. I am not going to mention his name because my problem is not with the doctor. My problem is that I went to their Madison Avenue office to make an appointment to have my eyes checked and my contacts updated, and I was suddenly being taken care of by some contact lens "specialist" guy. Keep in mind that I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment because the doctors are only in the Madison Ave office on Mondays. At first I thought this guy was nice, but over the course of my exam, I found him to be rude, dismissive and arrogant. I have been wearing contacts for almost 12 years and I know what works for me and what doesn't. He messed with my prescription, and when I told him I couldn't see, he said I was "thinking about it too much". To make a long story short, I had 5 appointments, a month of headaches and trial lenses, and then he had the audacity to tell me that I was "messing up his procedure" because I threw away a pair of lenses that were totally wrong, even though the girl at the desk told me to toss them if they didn't work, and make a new appointment. I like the doctor I asked for and will try and see him back on the Island next time, but it's totally disrespectful for Stahl to take an appointment and then not give you the doctor you asked for.
