BEST MD EXPERIENCE IN NYC SO FAR!. This Doctor is the best that I've seen in NYC. I've been her patient for 3 years now and never had a problem with the doctor or the staff. The doctor always spend the right amount of time with me, addresses my concerns and it's always on point with all my health issues.

I've never had a Physical Exam like the one that I had at this office. The doctor asked questions about my family history that reminded me of what medicine used to be like.

I usually wait until the last minute to go to the doctor. Last week I call at 4.45pm in the afternoon and even though I was calling at the last minute and at the end of the day, I was put in to see the doctor at 5.30pm the same day. Isn't that incredible? I was never able to do that before, my last internist waited a whole week to give an appointment even though I was in pain.

I've only good things to say about Dr Decotiis and her office staff. I couldn’t recommend her any higher.

Okay Doctor, Horrendous Staff. Went to visit Dr. Decotiis (3rd or 4th visit) with an enflammed lymph node and unbearable chest and head pain. Showed up only to find out that the incompetent staff had not switched over my insurance information after I switched jobs and providers earlier this year. The extremely rude and downright sadistic office manager (small indian woman... not sure of the name) refused to admit me despite my condition, unless I paid the money upfront. I normally would not have an issue, except for the fact that I gave them all the information last time I saw them!!!!

The woman would not let me speak to Dr. Decotiis or any other higher management supervisor (doubt one even exists in the cramped, outdated office) and asked me to leave (yes, like that).

DO NOT go to this doctor - there are plenty others in the city who have control over their staff and are more than eager to have your business. I will not go back.

One of the best Doctors in NYC. Dr Decotiis have been my Internist for many years. She is an excellent physician. She is always available when I am sick even if I call late in the day I always get an appointment for the same day. The staff is helpful and professional. I couldn't recommended her any higher.

Trying to Find a New Dr right now.. After a 3rd visit with Dr. Decotiis, I am resolved to switch to another doctor. She only addresses whatever she deems important and completely disregards your opinion and what you would like to focus on. I'm convinced she picks a symptom that is easiest to treat and ignores everything else. Also, when I brought records in from a previous and trusted doctor (in another country), she proceeded to insult the lab results and doctor's opinion, saying that they must have made a mistake. She seems to be quite biased against anyone that isn't herself.

Worst M.D. experience of my life. Not only do I agree that the staff and doctor are quick, not attentive, rude, and not thorough, I also had a few experiences that border on patient endangerment.

They sent me home w/ a kidney infection, without a diagnosis, and I ended up in the ER hours later, admitted immediately because my fever was so high.

Her office is in a convenient location, but there is no point in going to a doctor who does treat patience or practice with care.

I never post reviews online, but I feel incredibly strongly that no one should see this doctor.

rude staff. I have seen Dr Decotiis on several occasions in the course of the la.st year and have finally reached the end of my patience with her staff. I have never come across office staff who are so consistently rude and unhelpful.

Dr Decotiis is herself fairly OK, as other reviewers indicate she is usually rushed, doesn't seem that keen on spending the time to find out what the problem is and generally reaches for the prescription pad (antibiotics are a favorite recourse) before fully diagnosing the problem.

It is her reception staff however that really take the cake, they are pretty much universally rude and unhelpful in a way I have never experienced before. I wonder sometimes how aware she is of this (though if you ask to speak with her to complain about this the staff refuse to put you through with the explanation that "Dr Decotiis doesn't speak to patients" which may hint at a deeper problem).

My recommendation would be that if you are reading this to try and decide whether to see Dr Decotiis DON'T DO IT, go see another Dr who has enough respect for their patients to employ decent staff.

Too busy to spend the time to treat me. I came in with a relatively minor ailment, but that required some attention. After partially having dealt with the issue, Dr. Decotiis said that she didn't have time to finish because she had other patients to see and that I should come back another time. Frankly, I found this rather appalling. From my admittedly limited experience, she seemed very rushed and doesn't seem to care about patients. Also, while my shirt was off, one of the assistants left the door to the exam room wide open. I would definitely avoid this office and doctor.

Highly recommend. Dr Decotiis is a great doctor. She has been my doctor for many years and one more time she has demonstrated her expertise to me by diagnosing me quick and accurately.

Few redeeming qualities. I have been a patient of Dr. S. DeCotiis for some time now. Mostly, because it is always relatively easy for me to get an appointment.

However, when I have to interact with her front desk person and the physician assistant who takes bloodpressure, bloodtests, etc. I literally cringe. The two young women, in their mid-20s at most, are downright rude, with razor sharp attitude. You can't ask a question without them responding as though you have just aggravated them to the highest degree. Since they spend more time with me on my visit than the doctor sometimes does, it really makes me wonder why I visit the office with my health concerns. After all, when a person is unwell, that is not the time to have to deal with other people's attitude issues. Well, let's face it, it is a displeasure to deal with attitude regardless of the situation.

Dr. DeCotiis herself is an okay doctor. She seems knowledgeable enough and has handled my relatively minor medical issues with ease. She does seem to speak very quickly which gives one the impression that she is rushed and eager to leave the examination room, though.

There are really only two positives to using Dr. DeCotiis as your physician. One is that her schedule allows for a relatively easily scheduled appointment and the other is a very pleasant, skilled and professional member of her staff, Marianella. But it is not often that you can interact with Marianella these days as she is apparently occupied with other duties that limit her interaction with patients.

Excellent care.. I only recently switched to Dr. Decotiis (a friend recommended her) and I am very pleased. She's smart, attentive, on-time, knowlegeable and her office has a relaxed vibe. So far, I feel the quality of care is excellent. I've also been able to get in same-day due to an emergency. The only con has been that she doesn't mail annual test results; I had to make an appt. to retrieve them.
