“felt comfortable calling them with any questions and/or problems.”
“felt as if I had the personal attention from Leslie, from the daily contact to constant fresh searches she was finding; my placement was her personal mission.”
“Dynamic, Integrity, Competent, Friendly, Responsive, Extraordinary Matchmaker, Well Connected, Great people to have in your court.”
“In a time where the job market was pretty slow, I was SO grateful when I had multiple offers, and had the luxury to choose my dream job!”
Extreme hit or miss.
If your resume sells itself then she'll probably do a good job. If not, then its a different story. My biggest problem with this recruiter is that she falls off the face of the map as soon as the going gets tough. If your resume is not that dazzling, she will become very hard to get a hold of. If you call to try and follow up even infrequently her office manager will just tell you that you are supposed to wait for them to call you about job openings.
My advice: Don't delegate that much discretion to this agency.
Leslie and Mark are absolutely amazing. I met with Leslie on a Monday morning, and within ten minutes of meeting with her I had three interviews for that week!
Within a week of meeting her I was hired for a full time position at a fantastic company. I could not be more thrilled with her.
I emailed Leslie and Mark, and within minutes I always had a response, even on weekends! I highly recommend her!
***THE MOST AMAZING EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT EVER***. Leslie isn't just an absentee President. The very first meeting that I had was directly with her. She's a real hands on Owner. WHAT A RARITY IN THIS CITY!!!!! She cares more about making sure her employees are happy than mindlessly placing people with her clients. Her main goal is to make sure your job placement is not only a perfect fit for you and that it makes you happy but that you feel that you can come to her at any given time with questions or uncomfortable situations that may arise. So if you have any brains at all, THIS IS A NO BRAINER!!!! PLUS MARK HER OFFICE MANAGER ROCKS AND IS SUPER HELPFUL IF FOR SOME REASON LESLIE IS TIED UP!!!!
Best Agency Experience I've Had. I feel tremendously lucky to have found Leslie. Working with both her and Mark has been a pleasure. I just went full-time on my most recent assignment and couldn't be happier. These are tough times and I definitely benefitted from having Leslie in my corner. My experience was being ignored by other agencies and that was not what happened at all with Leslie. I would recommend her to anyone.
I really had high hopes for Leslie Silver and Associates but she successfully managed to kill every last bit of that hope.
Her desk has stacks and stacks of resumes which makes me question her organization skills to begin with. How can she possibly efficiently screen candidates with all that crap in front of her? I sincerely hope that they are stored in electronic format too.
After our first meeting, I heard from her only once but that was after months of keeping in contact. And nothing went anywhere with that lead anyway.
Bottom line - this place is a waste of your time. If someone puts in the effort to contact the agency, the least the business could do is reply. It's even worse that before we started working together, she replied to my emails within minutes so I know it isn't a technology barrier.
Leslie Silver & Associates is the BEST!!!.
Leslie Silver & Associates is by far the most hard-working, caring and incredible place I have ever been.
After meeting with another agency and being disappointed by the lack of results, I went to Leslie after reading great reviews about her work. My expectations were exceeded every step of the way. Within an hour Leslie had interviews lined up for me at some of the most prestigious companies in New York; less than a week after that I had landed a wonderful job.
Not only is Leslie’s fantastic reputation with the companies a plus but she also truly cares for each and every candidate.
I would recommend Leslie Silver & Associates to anyone and everyone and in the event that I am in the job market again I will be going straight to Leslie! I cannot thank her enough; once again, she is the absolute best.
Leslie is truly the best!.
Well, I thank God for Leslie, for if it was not for her, I would have still been stuck in my miserable old job, hating my life.
Leslie and her team were absolutely incredible and extremely helpful! Very friendly and personable, she understood immediately what I was looking for after only meeting me for a just a few minutes, and matched me with the perfect job.
After going to several recruiters in pursuit for a better position, Leslie was the only one who within a couple of days sent me to two fabulous companies for interviews, and in less than two weeks landed my dream job!
Their office had a casual and welcoming environment and the recruiters' offices had a comforting feel to them, which felt very pleasant in my desperate state then while I was job hunting. I met all three recruiters who work with her, all of who were extremely sweet and polite and who were readily available to start looking for me too.
Leslie herself was incredibly supportive, pre and post interview, checking up on me continuously, something not many recruiters do, which I really appreciate. She said she'd place me and she did! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Leslie Silver & Associates Thank You!!!.
A delight in New York City. No, not the new eatery in the West Village, but the recruiter Leslie Silver & Associates, far and away the most reliable in the industry in my experience. Experiencing more than a dozen in my career, I’ve found they can do what really counts, and that’s getting you in the front door to companies that suit you and want you.
Preparation was insightful, with enough information to feel comfortable and not too much to saturate the experience. I felt as if I had the personal attention from Leslie, from the daily contact to constant fresh searches she was finding; my placement was her personal mission.
I can honestly say that at times I felt inundated with options, overwhelmed with interviews; which during this climate was a welcomed relief.
I remember early in the experience, when faced with a last minute question about the interview, I placed a call to her office only to be told she was out. Her assistant without hesitation extended her phone number to me. A small anecdote, but trust me, if you’re serious about your employment prospects, you’ll want this service.
Helpful in a worthless ssort of way.
I was given an appointment for a potential job and to speak with Leslie.
Leslie gave some good tips on reworking my resume to make it more appealing to the New York City business set.
I called a few days later and Leslie said she had gotten no answer from the potential employer yet.
So the next few weeks I sent about 5 emails which outlook email gave me notice each was read by Leslie. Yet she did not reply to me on any one of those emails.
When she initially contacted me through email she was fast to respond but afterwards with no good news she just ignored me.
I would rather get a "They are not interested" email than no reply at all.
It sucks to give bad news but I would rather give bad news than get a bad reputation by ignoring clients.
Two thumbs down for Leslie Silver & Associates.
Rating employment agencies in NYC is like rating piles of dog poop. But Leslie Silver & Associates is the poopiest. Let me tell you about my two experiences.
The first time I went there I was given the gift of not having to share the same space as Leslie. Instead, I was handed off to this black woman who had a face like an axe. And a personality to match. She went through my resume asking (or in her case: "axing") questions which were one putdown after another: "I don't get it -- what does this degree you have put down here [notice, "the degree you put down here" rather than the polite and professional "your degree" as if I was lying] have to do wih these here jobs." "They laid you off? Weren't you good enough for them to move?" Several times this creature said: "Ya know, I know some people over there." Again implying I would be caught at something. In the middle of the interrogation, she just left. I sat in her smelly "office"(more like a closet) for about 20 minutes(!). Then was told by someone else(!!) to basically go home.
So I did. But I called back the next day, axing to speak to Leslie Silver herself. Instead I talked to this pathetic fool named Mark, who has that oh-so-common manner of the truly stupid pretending to be superior by being intensely condescending. I told Mark that I wanted to make a complaint about the creep who wasted my time the day before. Mark said: "Never mind about that. Why don't you just come in tomorrow and see Leslie." Fine.
Next day, I met with the Great Lady who told me that the rude woman from earlier had some mental and personal problems which -- get this -- "I wouldn't understand." Leslie then excused herself to go to the ladies room. She proceeded to take the world's longest dump. I waited for Leslie to return for 40 MINUTES! After 40 minutes, I left, but not before I beat the crap out of Mark -- who was in traction for 4 months after that -- and setting a fire in the rude woman's office.
Okay, I didn't beat up anyone or light any fires. But trust me: you'll feel the same when you leave this agency.
AVOID at all costs.
