Allen Edmonds is for the snazzy guy who prefers serenity to "scene" while shoe shopping. Older chaps who really know about the product recommend new styles as you peruse the offerings in this carpeted, oak wood, manly-man shop. The space is small, but very comfortable.
The Goods
Classic men's shoes like lace-up oxfords, penny and tasseled loafers are here, along with newfangled sportier styles--think rubber-soled but not "fashioney." Details like woven leather or luxe fabrications like sharkskin make appearances seasonally, but don't expect anything too far out of the box.
