Great Upscale Chinese. Went there for a business dinner and had succulent grand marnier shrimp and juicy peking duck. We had our own private room. Great for business meetings. Taking the family this weekend.

Editorial Review. Sit down to dine or take-out standard Chinese food from this midtown lunch spot.

Overpriced unappetizing food. First of all, Chiam is overpriced. We ordered some Dim Sum appetizers: shrimp dumplings, beef rolls, and pork dumplings. We eat dim sum all the time, and chose to actually send back the beef rolls. When the steamed lemon chicken entree arrived, it looked undercooked. It had a slimy texture and was totally unappetizing. After one bite, I was done. Had we known the entree was going to be so horrid, we would have sent this back before the beef dumplings. Do not waste your money, or your time.

Excellent food. I went with a large group of friends and we had a wonderful time. We ordered a large amount of food and we're plenty full because of their large portions. The wait staff and maître d' were extremely helpful. If you find yourself in the area and hungry, there isn't a better restaurant.

Outstanding Lunch Value. Just had lunch there today with a client, and was wowed by what you get on the $20 lunch menu -- choice of appetizer, entree, and fruit for dessert. And this wasn't your "takey-outey" fare; instead it was perfectly seasoned (he asked that the spice be taken out of a spicy dish and they obliged), and allover expertly prepared. Service was friendly and actually very charming. We even got an extra fortune cookie because he didn't what his first one said...

Classy Chinese. This place is clearly a cut above your run-of-the-mill Chinese places. The room is gorgeous; very simple, pretty place with relaxing background music. The food? Way above average Chinese. Super Crispy Orange Beef and the appetizers and chicken dishes were very good! All in, a relaxing, satisfying restaurant!

Great lunch. We stopped here for lunch on Zagit's recommendation. The food was excellent. Loved the special dumplings and steamed wrapped shrimp. House special prawns and basic Hunan Chicken were all with delicious with just the right amount of spice.

so so. It's in a great midtown location, and the decor and wait staff are sharp, but the food itself was not so extraordinary. I found its cuisine taste plain.
