“We love the people, service, food and location.”
“This more expensive bottle was the entry immediately below the cheaper bottle on the wine list, and had the same name except the more expensive bottle was "Reserve.”
“Their homemade pasta was good, but it is also over priced($35)!”
“Diners used to ordering everything "on the side" might balk at the no menu, informal approach but the grilled white truffle risotto is amazing - tender and savory.”
“My favorite restaurant in NYC !”
“We ended up paying for the more expensive bottles of wine, but will NEVER return.”
“From its amazing food to excellent service this is my #1 pick !”
“The wine list is disappointing too: overpriced California generics (as if it were Applebee's) and Italian junk, virtually all cheap Sangiovaise”

Like the food.. A very appealing selection of food is available on the menu here. The managment seems very attentive and the wait staff is eager to provide quick service. A very positive overall experience which justifies a return visit here for lunch or dinner.
A sensational dinner. The food is superb. First they brought out sliced prosciutto & the creamiest, most delicious buffalo mozzarella cheese I’ve ever had. I would have been happy with just that, a glass of red wine & some bread! For my appetizer I had the spaghetti with dungeness crab – exceptional. A touch of saffron, some garlic & olive oil, I am hooked forever. Then I had the porterhouse steak - perfectly cooked, tender and delicious!! Can I just say they have THE BEST key lime pie!! Fresh, creamy, tangy, and not too sweet and the crust tastes like the perfect sugar cookie. I finished every last morsel even though I was already stuffed. I asked the waiter where they get their desserts. “Homemade” he said. He also said anytime I wanted the key lime pie to call a day ahead and they’d make it for me – special! I am in love with this place!! This restaurant is worth every penny. I can’t wait to go back.
Great Italian food. I attended a bachelorette party this Saturday and we ate here before heading over to the male strip club. The atmosphere is great and the food was incredible. The bride ate a little too much and almost puked all over the male strippers while getting a lap dance, the Savage Men dancers were a little weary to come back over after that. The bread here is also baked on premisis and is out of this world.
Wonderful food and great service. I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant last night and I have to say me and the six other people were all in agreement. The food was excellent and the service was right on. I eat out all the time and this place is by far the best Italian Restaurant out there. We dined on risotto w/ truffles, seafood, dover sole, anguloti (spelling?) and for dessert we had this fabulous cheese cake that melted in you mouth like nothing we ever had. Very good wines we enjoyed three bottles. The check was what we expected dining in the city. Worth every penny! Have the company party there next month, can't wait to share the good food.
Unimpressive, Expensive and Disappointing.
I ordered veal scallopine with artichokes & mushrooms. It was served with over-salted, gooey brown sauce; more appropriate for a Chinese take-out and the veal was overcooked and seemed frozen before prepared. My wife ordered a pasta dish that was prepared in the dining room by one of the Central American waiters; completely unimpressive. There is no proof of a chef-in-charge, so, if one exists, better he hide!!! The wine list is disappointing too: overpriced California generics (as if it were Applebee's) and Italian junk, virtually all cheap Sangiovaise
Service is strange -- busboys stepped-up to waiter, and there's one, probably Mexican that really thinks he's Italian, but an awful imitation. They all work under some dignified Italian Captain who seems to recognize that things are wrong, but is powerless to change the place.
Don't go here. Instead, IF YOU WANT REAL ITALIAN FOOD, GO TO a restaurant with a REAL chef and devoted staffs
Overpriced ... unless you got a 2007 wall street bonus.
Prices are out of site. No question the food is good. Not great but good.
But the pricing kicks things out of site. You need at 2007 bonus,
a 2006 expense account and a 2005 Madoff statement. But if
you live in the real world stick to ... eating elsewhere.
Worst! Worst! Worst!. Worst! Worst! Worst! tasteless food, menu price for fish was $26 , they charged $50, but who cares if its delicious....but fish was just piece of......... for two person, with no drinks. charged $250. never back
Slimeballs serving mediocre food at laughably high prices.
I went here with three friends on had one of the worst experiences in 10 years of living in NYC. Menu has no pricing information, we ordered two ~$100 bottles of wine (that were marked up from $40). Mediocre Food arrived after a long time and was luke warm and mediocre (tasted like it has been sitting under a lamp for 20 minutes). Then came the height of the evening. I received the a bill for $850. Yes $850. We were not eating white truffles but non unique pastas. i complained to the waiter and insisted it was correct.
Stay away from this awful restaurant
Slimy Service. The concierge at my hotel recommended Il Postino. The food was good, but the service was slimy at best, fraudulent at worst. We ordered a $55 bottle of wine, and then a second bottle of the same wine. When the bill arrived, they had charged us for two bottles of $160 wine! This more expensive bottle was the entry immediately below the cheaper bottle on the wine list, and had the same name except the more expensive bottle was "Reserve." I explained that we ordered the $55 bottle of wine, but the waiter was completely unsympathetic and merely shrugged his shoulders. I got the impression this waiter does this all the time. We ended up paying for the more expensive bottles of wine, but will NEVER return. After I told the hotel's concierge, he said he would never recommend people here again.
