I don't really have anything overly bad to say about the food or drink selection at Maggie's Place, but the serve staff is extremely lacking. I was with a group of about 5 people and some of the party had gotten rowdy, so when it came time to settle the bill I picked up a generous portion and then left a gracious tip in cash for the waitress. When I checked my bank statement the next day I saw that the amount charged to my card was 20% higher due to the waitress changing my tip amount. This angered me, because I had let the poor service and still tipped well over 20% to only have my waitress add another 20% tip by changing my receipt.
Pros: Good Food
Cons: Service hard to get

I am a semi-regular to Maggie's. It is a much nicer atmosphere than mediocre Connolly's across the street. Needless-to-say, it is very busy 5 up until 7:30 pm; the commuter crowd empties thereafter. The bartenders and wait staff are swift and the Managers are very competent. This is a regulars kind of place. The upstairs offers more space for dining as opposed to the drink-centric downstairs. The most disappointing aspect of the place is the food. Except for the occasional bar specials and the amazing potato chips that come in a basket, I have yet to have any thing really good here. Also, ever for regulars, the bar staff are not very giving with buy-backs. I guess they figure that the crowd is filled with millionaire JP Morgan executives(and any one else who has survived the Bear Stearns fallout).
Pros: Swift service, caters to regulars
Cons: Adequate pub food & too much noise at times
