Great Atmosphere. Had a great dinner here during the week. Delicious burgers and great service (Maureen). The bar was so much fun and the bar staff really friendly. Would recommend a visit!

Wonderful time on a weekend.. Fantastic night at this place! Went on a Saturday night...traditional irish music sessions started at nine and kept going for hours. I've spent time in pubs in Ireland and the vibe was the same...lively crowd and great music... Seamus the bartender was on the spot, buy-backs were plentiful and appreciated. I would absolutely give this place my stamp of approval..and I'm not that easy to please.

great spot. I go to o neils every now and then. service has always been great and I was maddened to read the review someone gave sayig to avoid it and that they got no buybacks. obviously you werent behaving like someone who deserved one. getting a buyback is a privilage. be nice to the bartender and they'll be nice to you. food is good, drinks are drinks, what more do you need. great spot

JUST WHAT I NEEDED. I'm not sure why Citysearch has -0- results when I tried to search under "restaurant". Anyway walking along 3rd Ave at 9:30 PM Monday nite, hungry and in need of a drink or two, I happened upon this place. The decor is not fancy or trendy but reasonably cozy, the service friendly and the lamb chops were prepared perfectly and 1/2 the price of what I might've paid in a trendier place. Some of the meals I could see at the other tables looked generous and equally appealing. Drinks were not quite as much of a bargain but still solid. I have no idea what this place is like during happy hour or when the dining room upstairs is open but the overall package was exactly what I needed.

Avoid this hole like the plague. O'Neil's is a terrible bar. The people who go there suck and so it follows that the people who can stand to work there suck as well. Everything about O'Neil's is wrong from it's lousy bartenders who won't give a buy back to it's faux Irish flare pinned to the walls. Add to that the worst type of frat boys grown to be office workers as clientele and you have all the ingredients for disaster.

Great place to grab a drink. Perfect place to meet friends for a couple of drinks after work. The staff is extremely friendly and don't let your drink stay dry for too long. Friendly happy hour crowd.

The sampler platter is great!

Pints and Tunes. The staff at O'Neill's are all real pros and very personable. You'd want to go there just to chat with the bartenders. They serve one of the best pints of Guinness in New York. The food is nothing too special, but always wholesome and filling. The live Irish traditional music on Saturday and Sunday evenings is great!

Count your change before you leave!. I had a business lunch meeting with a colleague here recently and experienced the worst service imaginable. Our waitress gave us an incorrect amount of change. So, I brought this to her attention, clearly explaining the amount I had paid and the change expected. Instead of admitting that there was a mistake on her end, she rudely said that I can just keep the change, implying that I had tried to stiff her. This is NOT the way to treat customers!

If you come here, either pay with the credit card or let your waiter/waitress (hopefully, not the one we got) know how much you paid so that this doesn't happen to you. Good luck!

Nice place. My husband's absolute favorite bar in the city. Live Irish music on Saturday nights.
