Great Place, Great Service!. I recently shopped on line looking for an engagement ring. I finally found a beautiful one on the Michael C. Fina site. I called the store and was directed to a diamond specialist named Bruce. He is an amazing man! A few days later I was in the store looking at the setting I liked and he showed my girlfriend and I a few diamonds that were in my price range. We ended up getting the ring and it is perfect! I highly recommend this store for your engagement shopping. The store is amazing and the atmosphere is comfortable , Give them a call and ask for Bruce, you'll be glad you did.
I Love this Place!!!.
I had such a great experience at this location.
My fiance actually proposed right outside the store!!!
Lets start from the beginning.
Without my knowledge Justin(My Fiance) went to NYC to pick out my ring. He spoke with Bruce who helped him all the way through until the end. Justin has nothing but great things to say about him. It was that day that Bruce helped plan My engagement with Justin. Justin told Bruce exactly what he wanted him to do. He also gave Justin some ideas as well.
After my fiance took me to what I thought was just a nice visit to NYC, we walked the streets window shopping (the whole time Justin was secretly leading me to the store) There was a huge display for me in the window of there store including a picture of Justin and I with decorations roses and a large banner that read Brynn Will You Marry Me. When I saw the display in the store it took me a minute or two to register that it was Justin and I in the pictures and not just random people that looked a lot like us. When I figured this out I turned around to ask Justin what was going on and he was down on one knee, and he proposed and placed the ring on my finger. I was completely surprised! People were screaming and cheering and I was crying, After I said yes Justin stood me up and pointed to a camera guy, the whole thing was caught on camera!
The photographer followed us inside for more pictures where Bruce had blocked off part of the store just for us where we enjoyed gourmet chocolate covered strawberries and champagne (my favorite). it ended up being one of the best days of my life so far and all thanks to the help of this grand store and their Employee Bruce. Thank you! I have the prettiest ring I have ever seen!!! And believe me I have seen a lot!!
I read some of the other reviews on this site and the ones that mention that if you go there on a busy time you get less customer service... well duh!!! It is NYC on a Saturday no less. Please people don't be so ignorant.. I have nothing but good things to say about this store and plan to go back for our wedding bands!
Do NOT register here!.
After a bad experience with Tiffany & Co. -along with a limited selection of china- we decided to go with Michael C. Fina, for our wedding registry. At first everything was great. They had a wonderful selection to choose from, easy website to navigate, etc. However, when I received an email, from some bridal registry 'consultant' named Klea Kostopoulos, the experience started to sour.
In her very first email-about a week or two after registering- she inquired why we had not put our address on our registry, asked why we had not selected any china and addressed me -in the greeting- with the wrong name. She also stated that if we needed any help or had any questions to email her. First, our address was clearly on our registry as was the china we selected. Second, how unprofessional is it to address someone by the wrong name? I emailed her back correcting her, an all accounts. I then went on to ask some questions regarding the privacy of the registry, both online and in the store. Days went by and she never responded, so I sent another email. Again, days went by and I never received a response from her. I know that the emails were received and read but I guess responding to customer's questions are too good for her. After 2 or 3 unanswered emails I called her. They told me she wasn't in but would give her the message and have her call me. Again, I received NOTHING from this women. At this point I was disgusted with the entire situation. I called and left her a voicemail that I was appalled by her lack of customer service skills and that I wanted her to cancel the entire registry. Although it wasn't necessary, it would have been nice of her to call or email to apologize. All she did was cancel the registry. The only way she was helpful.
Perhaps another consultant would have been helpful but this woman was completely useless. As long as this Klea woman is there, I will not shop there nor recommend this store, for anything!!!
Please learn from my mistake. Not recommended..
I bought my engagement ring here and was very disappointed in the service. They were the only dealer for A Jaffe (the manufacturer) or I wouldn't have bought here.
Firstly, they started giving me bad service when it was clear I was only buying the mounting (not the center stone) from them. I get it, stores want to sell the center diamond, but that's no excuse for the sales rep (a woman named Libby) not returning emails. Secondly, when they found out I had a 15% discount through my employer, they increased the ring price by $1000 just as we were putting our credit card down (they knew my then-BF was only in town for 2 days and we probably wouldn't have time to shop around again). Then they charged his card for the balance 50% without so much as a courtesy call. They never called when the ring was ready (we called them 5 days after the card had been charged, and they confirmed it was ready). Lastly, I put all this in a complaint letter and weeks later there has been no response. I hope that A Jaffe establishes another dealer relationship in NYC.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE thanks to Bruce and the MC Fina family!!!.
I couldn't be more pleased with my entire engagement ring purchasing experience at Michael C. Fina. An engagement ring should be by far the most special purchase in a guys life, and delivering this as a surprise means sorting through hundreds of rings in dozens of jewelry shops across NYC with very little direction from your soon-to-be wife. While this sounds like a very overwhelming process (and it was at points), the people at Michael C. Fina, especially Bruce Lutwick (a Fina Jewelry Consultant), welcomed me in as family into a comfortable atmosphere with an amazing selection of rings.
Prior to stopping at Michael C. Fina, my knowledge of diamonds and rings came solely from internet research and pushy sales people. Then in my first (of many) trips to Fina, I met Bruce Lutwick who took lots of time explaining all of the intricacies and differences in each type of diamond/ring. He also turned my trip into a very personal and relaxed environment getting to know me and having a broad selection of rings to look at based on the characteristics I described.
After looking at a ton of rings, one jumped out at me and I immediately knew that was the one. Working with Bruce, I was able to stay within my budget and could not have asked for a better experience. In what I originally thought would be a never-ending process to pick out an expensive ring turned out to be a comfortable, confident decision with an amazing ring for my fiancée. She absolutely loves the ring and has been getting compliments ever since. After the proposal, Bruce invited us back in for a congratulatory toast and welcomes us to drop in whenever we're in the area to say hi.
If you're looking for an engagement ring, I highly recommend without any hesitation going to see Bruce or any of the other friendly associates at Michael C. Fina. This was a truly amazing experience at Michael C. Fina and I couldn't picture going anywhere else for my fiancées incredible engagement ring!
Worst Registry Experience EVER.
Please do NOT waste your time registering here. They do not know what they are doing when it comes to registries. Customer service has proved unhelpful on several occasions. They caused me much unneeded stress before and after my wedding. I only registered here because it was the only place that sold my formal china as separate pieces while also offering registries. There are so many other things to stress about while planning a wedding, and the registry process should not be one of them. My complaints include:
1. Our everyday china was discontinued, but I was not notified by Michael C. Fina. I wrote an email to them to see why I was not notified and received a response saying they send email notifications and that I probably received one but it must have gone to my spam folder. I do not have a spam filter.
2. They changed their website layout halfway through my year-long engagement. The discontinued china reappeared on our registry, and no matter how many times or different ways I tried to remove it, it remained on the registry. A guest ended up purchasing one of the pieces. I then created a second registry so that the discontinued pieces would not show up.
3. Seven months after our wedding, we have yet to receive the majority of our gifts despite several phone calls to customer service. I was chided for creating a second registry.
Horrible Customer Service. I was a bride registered here & received thousands of dollars worth of items - well over $10K worth! My wine glasses were pretty costly & I didn't receive any before the wedding so I made a quick registry adjustment & added in some less expensive Waterford glasses & sure enough - received several for our wedding. My plan was to exchange these glasses & upgrade to the ones I really wanted. (Upgrade = I'd be spending More money!) I just went to do this exchange & was told they wouldn't do the exchange after 60 days. These are NEW IN BOX glasses in a line (Waterford!) they still carry. After I was such a good (profitable!) customer, I'm shocked their service was so lousy. Never again will I shop here & I recommend You don't either!
buying experience vs follow up. my fiance and i saw an advertisement in the newspaper so we decided to give this store a try. we were treated very well from the moment we walked in. the ring was custom made to our tastes and came out great. The issue is the follow up. The experience was not pleasant. we were given the run around and was transferred to one ext. number to another extension. one person's voice-mail to another. we even tried speaking to the manager. it has been almost a month before someone in the store finally responded to our question re: ring.
Michael C. Fina Made Our Day Special.
My fiancé and I had a great experience when we went to register with Michael C. Fina. The entire staff was friendly, and they were all extremely knowledgeable about the products. They have such an amazing collection and you can really get a feel for the products before you make your decision.
We had such a wonderful experience with the registry, and we decided to use Michael C. Fina to purchase our wedding bands. Once again, the selection was large and the staff really took the time to figure out exactly what we wanted. I picked out a beautiful band from Hearts on Fire and my fiancé chose one from Jeff Cooper.
Thank you to Michael C. Fina for making our wedding planning process so quick and painless!
Awsome selection!. Last week I was helping my best friend's boyfriend buy an engagement ring for her. One of our stops was Michael C. Fina because my cousin got her ring there and it is gorgeous. We were so impressed with the selection they had (more than 10 different designers, alot more variety than the other stores). The girl that helped us was not pushy at all, and super patient. I had fun because they let me try everything on and they helped him by bringing up alot of things we never even thought about (gaps between rings?). He felt extra assurance with the fact that he bought it at a reputable store, so if anything happens he can take it back to them and they will still be there. He pops the question this week. Wish him luck!
