“This hotel is a great place for out-of-towners to stay in.”
“The service was outstanding.”
“This is by far our favorite hotel for the price, you can't beat it.”
Best Midtown Hotel.
THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL TO STAY TO BE CENTRAL TO EVERYTHING IN MANHATTAN...
I love this hotel! For the price it's pretty good since it's a block away from Grand Central Station and within 4-5 blocks you can get to Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Time Square, Empire State Building and other tourist spots you will end up checking out while in New York!
Some words of advice for those who stay here...in the summer, keep the air conditioning going cause these rooms pretty much stay hot and ask for a room above the 14th floor cause you can't hear the "NY music" aka NOISE at all hours of the day!
Lovely Hotel. I recently stayed here for a couple of nights. I was really impressed with the restaurant and I would say it's well worth the visit.
Great lobby, not so great room. I was a little disappointed in the size of the room after being in such a beautiful lobby area. There was no counter space in the bathroom. I had to keep bringing my things in and out with me and try to balance them ontop of the toilet. I was also disappointed that it took a while for the water to cool down in the shower and that I had to hold the spray head to wash my hair.
great place to lay your head. I have brought my daughter on her first trip to New York. We are staying at the Roosevelt and the beds are amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the lobby is very crowded because the hotel seems to host a lot of events.
scarry staff- would not return.
Problems with Roosevelt Hotel in New York City:
At 2:20 am the front desk calls & says they had a complaint that our Tv was too loud. I told the woman that they were mistaken because our Tv was not on and we had been asleep for hours. as my sis and I are 62 & 64 yrs. old.
She then said I am warning you that if this happens again security will be called to knock on your door. I explained again that she was mistaken but she was very rude and continued to threaten me. I went down to the lobby and she was the only one there and I asked for the mananger and a man came to me with a phone in hbis hand.
I made a complaint with the night mananger and then again with the day manager the next day.
I was told that they would get back to me but no one ever did. We were not able to go back to sleep that night and becuause we were so tired we missed the Broadway Show that we had paid for.
We were there for several more days and no one ever contacted us. When we left on 3/01 we both filled out a comment card and explained the incident.
We have not heard anything from them at allfrom the Hotel.
They woke us us in the middle of the night for something we did not do, then threatened us.We were awake the rest of the night.
It was a terrible and costly experiance.
The room was fine but the "view" they said we had the the inside lower roof of the hotel with the airconditioners and the others wall of the hotel. The tv was good.
Lovely Hotel. My boyfriend took me to the Roosevelt Hotel for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. My first impression of the hotel was that it was a beautiful, warm, and very classy place. The lobby area itself is just lovely and is all decorated for Christmas which i thought was great. Our room was really large and sumptous. The bed and the sheets were very high quality which is what i expected from a hotel of this calibur but sometimes other places fall short. The Roosevelt did not. It was also nice because we were right in the Grand Central area and so close to everything. We really had a lovely time at the Roosevelt Hotel over the weekend and i highly reccomend it.
Great NYC Stay. I needed a place to put my inlaws for a weekend while they were visiting in NYC. The hotel was lovely, easy to book rooms, and the people there couldnt have been easier to work with. My In-laws were pleased with the hotel and their stay and complimented me on my choice. I wanted to write a review bc there are so many bad hotels in New York that people should know where to stay when visiting. Next time they are in town i will book a room for them here again. (beats them staying at my apartment every time!)
Bad Experience; Poor Customer Service and Amenities. There are many other quality hotels in NYC to spend your stay. The concierge and front desk were both rude and of little help. The price for food, drinks and room was overpriced based on what you get. The shower ran out of hot water on four separate occasions and the air conditioner was so loud it made sleeping difficult. I gave many opportunities to rectify issues but was met with slow service, disregard and a lack of customer care. I love NYC and it's shame that the hotel didn't add to the experience. Sorry to have to write a negative review but this stay forced my hand.
NEVER STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!. I am getting ready to make my 5th stay in 2 years at The Roosevelt. I refuse to stay anywhere else. First though - For travelers who have never stayed in NYC - ROOMS ARE SMALL. Buildings were built in the early 20th Century. Have you ever seen an NYC apartment?? Anyway, by my second stay I was treated like family. Service is always amazing and the staff incredible. Our favorite spot is the lobby bar. Humero's Cosmo is a must have!! I will never, ever stay anywhere else. The staff is now part of my family and I theirs. When you book or check-in, find out if you can upgrade to a larger room for the same price. In these times of financial strain, not as many people are traveling and a lot of the bigger rooms sit empty. Breakfast buffet is amazing - but a little too expensive for me to rationalize - we do make an exception on Sundays, though. Pricey, but worth doing at least once.
Horrible!. As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms are very small. The bathroom is not only small, it is awkward to negotiate. There is no exhaust fan which proved to be not so fresh for such a small room. Our late night meal was left outside our room until early evening of the next day. This created a foul odor directly outside of our tiny room. The staff were unresponsive. Moreover, during our stay we had occasion to interact with on-site hotel management; we found them to be unresponsive and disrespectful. We do not reccommend this hotel. It is too expensive for such subpar accommendations.
