“But I simply love the ambiance.”
“The views are great and it 's very expensive.”
Rockerfeller. Long lines. they have skate rentals and a bathroom. The tree lights up there in December. It goets very crowded Holiday season. They do offer Ice Skating lessons there. Get a size larger in skates, because they run smalla ndmy cut your feet and that's now fun or cool. They are closed and made to a resturant from early april untill late October. this is near top of the rock, near 5th avenue, and many big buildings like the NBC building.
LOVING IT! Skating Rink By Winter--------Restaurant / Lounge By Summer!!!!.
I went to the Rink several times last summer. What can I say? Can you BEAT the views??? I simply love it is in an outdoor setting, yet semi enclosed from the public, (a bit escavated private lounge)
The ambiance is Amazing! I prefer outdoor settings (however, not street front cafes- either elevated off the ground or escavated-) Im a bit hard to please. But I simply love the ambiance....Nice, sophistacated crowd, Oh, boy did I see quite a few good looking bachelors!!
Ice-skating in midtown is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit..
In Short
For those with love on the brain, the rink's breathtaking views (a golden Prometheus, the magnificent Christmas tree) and bustling energy provide a great way to get lip-locked in no time. If your main interest is skating, there's room for everyone, from Michelle Kwan-wannabes to those who've never set foot on the ice before. To ensure more time on the ice, and less time waiting on line, get there early.
Great View, Bad Rink.... I really like this rink but the ice is always snowy and is never smooth. It's crowded in the skating rental room, but the skates are good. The views are great and it 's very expensive.
Ice Skating @ Rockefeller Center Rink. this is first thing i ever did as s tourist in new york city! all my friends from sweden came to visit. we had sooo much fun. it is great being a tourist.
a cool ny thing to do. especially around the holidays. it's a bit on the spendy side - but with the christmas tree above you as you skate and all the lights at rockerfeller center it's a once in a few years cool thing to do. the ice doesn't get zamboni-ed enough. and it gets crowded. but it's fun to say you've done it once in a lifetime.
