GREAT Experience!!. I had an appointment at another bridal boutique in the city... coming in from NJ we had gotten into NY a bit early. At breakfast we had stumbled upon an ad in Bride Magazine for "The Bridal Building". The Bridal Buidling, where H&S is located was very close to where we were eating. With a coupld of hours to kill, we said lets go check it out....When we walked in we were a little taken back by the space. There are a number of dresses in a small amount of space. My mother and I grabbed 4 dresses and went back to try them on... we were, for the most part, on our own. We did not have the same experience as the other girl who wrote a review...as far as a charge for trying on? I tried on the 3rd dress and it was THE dress!!! I thought it was the most beautiful dress I had tried on, even after going to the best of the best bridal salons in NJ! The price was amazing and much more reasonable than other boutiques. Anna did work on the price and we could not have been more pleased!!!! She said the dress would be in within 3 months....and it was! She let me come up just to try it on eventhough I did not want to have an official fitting at that point.... she was so excited for me... as far as the fondling... she is an old school seamstress and Im sure she is not interested feeling people but more so to get an amazing fit which my dress turned out to be!!!! You need to have a sense of humor and not be so uptight! I have been up 2 times...1st to try it on for the fun of it... and 2nd for my fitting! I found Anna nothing but pleasant!!!!!! She is even letting me keep my dress there until I can take it home...which most salons make you take it as soon as the alterations are done.... I am heading back in 2 weeks to pick it up and I will actually be a bit sad that I wont be visiting with Anna anymore! I think its a great boutique and that its a MUST to go and browse.... just realize it is a severely small space and you will be fine! Best selection and best prices in NYC!!!!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM H & S BRIDAL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT H&S BRIDAL! Not to sound cliche, but I've never written a review in my life, but my horrible experience at H & S Bridal compelled me to warn any one considering go there to reconsider. I made an appointment to try on a specific bridesmaid dress on a Sunday, and went there with 3 of my 7 bridesmaids, one of whom came in from Jersey. The store is a tiny cramped space, overflowing with dresses. There is no room to walk, sit or really even stand. Once we got there, Anna, whom I made the appointment with on the phone, appears from the back room not knowing what we were there for, even though I'd called to confirm my appointment on Thursday and asked about the specific dress. She finally remembered and got the dress out, but knew nothing about it -- she didn't know what sizes it came in, what colors, and even better, the man behind the desk didn't even know how much it cost. They only had one dress in one size, and while the 3rd bridesmaid from Jersey was a little late, one of the girls who was there tried it on. Anna completely manhandled her, very unprofessionaly just telling her to take her clothes off and then touching her all over, including after sneezing. Throughout this process, I mentioned at least 3 times that another girl was coming who would ty on the dress as well. This wasn't a problem until Anna tried to force us to order the dress on the spot, and we said we were still deciding. At that point, Anna and the man behind the desk got very mean and Anna told me that it would cost $25 for anyone else to try on the dress! Apparently, their store policy is that one person can try it on for free, but after that it's a $25 fee that's waived ONLY if you order the dress! I couldn't believe it! I told her that she should tell her customers this when they make an appointment to TRY on dresses, to which she replied that the policy is stated on the website. I never saw anything about it. Needless to say, we left immediately. H & S Bridal does nothing to make the wedding experience a pleasant one, and there is no reason to give your business to them when there are so many more professional and helpful bridal stores in the area.

Brides stay away from H&S if you don't want hassles. Please refer to this blog for a true story about H&S bride: (H&S Bridals - Brides Beware! it's a blog, and if you google you'll see it)

I belive it since I had a similar experience.

Everything went o.k for me until the alteration. I live in VA, so I drove to NYC to pick up my dress that I was hoping to be ready, after i called her several times and told her that i'm driving to pick up my dress and she said that it's ready...I went there and boom....the dress was not ready and she claimed that she made a mistake but she was clearly lying! she was ignorant and not sorry at all that I drove all the way from VA (6hrs) to come to nyc for nothing...they are terrible people!
